If I had made a show about aliens named after minerals, I would have named them Anglesite, Barite, and Celestite. That trio makes way more sense than Amethyst, Garnet, Pearl (pearl isn't even a mineral, and garnet is a group of minerals rather than a specific individual mineral. Amethyst gets points for bring a mineral, but is an impure quartz).

admittedly i haven't watched the show in a while but yellow diamond's pearl kinda struck me. i guess there are more iterations of the other gems though, like all the rubies.
And yes, I did just spend two hours going through Walter Schumann's Minerals of the World, Second Edition, looking for an A, B, C, group of isomorphic minerals.

pearls are made-to-order servants, basically status symbols
yellow and blue diamonds have their own pearls and it's implied that the crystal gems' pearl belonged to pink diamond
