Minecraft is a great game and a fucking repulsive artistic medium.
How so?
it just looks awful and the production is uniformly done by pretty small companies who are already catering to an existing fanbase so it ends up this ugly-looking thing that doesn't hold appeal to anyone but 12 year old boys.
I would care less about this if I weren't constantly subjected to it. I love my siblings but relying on old shows on Netflix and whatever can be found on Youtube for TV has left me soured on a lot of media.
That could’ve been said for Halo word for word a decade ago, yet Rooster Teeth and others ended up building valid careers out of it.
I wouldn’t count out Minecraft as an artistic medium just yet.

I wouldn't consider machinima artistically great just because it achieved some success. Video games themselves have been enormously financially successful but that itself doesn't validate, eg, Call of Duty 4 as a piece of Great Art. Plus, these days what people consider "machinima" is really semi-traditional 3D animation performed in game engines (eg, those SFM music videos).

I said "artistically valid", not "artistically great".
It's certainly not ideal for everything, but it has some valid purposes.
my DCSS experiment of the week is playing a Troll Monk and seeing how it combos with different gods.
This is my first run ever as a follower of Zin and I find it interesting that the Recite ability actually produces (somewhat disjointed and cliched) lines from his fictional holy book.

Well, almost anything can be art, but that doesn't mean the art itself is good.
Took out gauze and can't tell if I feel better or worse.
I don't want to be the guy to tell you to take drugs, but in this instance, it would be entirely warranted. That's what you were prescribed them for. It's not going to instantly turn you into a drug addict or something.

I think the gauze was the problem. It doesn't feel nearly as bad now. I just need to wait an hour and a half for the pills.

I would have taken your advice but, yknow, mom
She run off and hide them or something, or is she rationing them like some kind of psych ward orderly?
Going back home to Sheffield from Stoke-on-Trent. There's no train that goes straight between the two stations, so I have to stop of at one of two possible connecting stations.
I got to touch actual ivory keys on a Chopin-era piano today.
I suppose this balances out last night
That is actually pretty cool. Was the tone different from modern makes?
wasn't able to compare it with the regular piano, but it definitely has a different feel to it. less weight to the keys. the others, who play piano a lot more often than i do, said it had a more metallic, harpsichordy sound to it
Stoke-on-Trent is actually five/six towns bunged together to form a large city. It's in the River Trent, and Stoke in the "main" bit, but Hanley is where the shopping centres are.
But it's annoying that there are no trains between SOT and Sheffield, so I either have to go north to go back down south, or go south to go back up north.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Thought: the heaper most likely to become a crazy cat lady is Naney, and he's not even a lady!

Good luck. :(

Thank. Nearly at station number two. Half an hour or so to go.
Really tempted to sing along really loudly...
Hasbro, why can't any of your adaptations be good?
