We can do anything if we do it together.

Tom Hall left Id early in Doom's development because nobody agreed with him about which direction the game should take.

It's kind of an interesting story, I think

I'm not sure I know the full story, but I'm pretty sure I'd agree with him.
He wanted it to have more of a story, with characters and cutscenes and objectives other than "blast your way to the next level".

I personally do not agree, but whatever
Yeah, I definitely agree with him, but you do you.
  • While I understand consternation at having to drive in or shovel snow, the whole "I hate snow" attitude some people have irritates me, and the fact that some people in snowy climes have never built a snowman or had a snowball fight honestly baffles and disappoints me. What kind of lives have you been leading to find yourselves so ignominiously deprived?

I did these things as a child before I was expected to shovel out the entire house any time it so much as flurried

my opinion on snow has thus completely soured. I would be fine if it never snowed near me ever again.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Then wouldn't living somewhere without people who expect you to shovel even when there was no point render that factor moot?
  • kill living beings
" if your parents weren't so into shoveling snow would be way more fun for you"
  • I personally quite enjoy shoveling snow
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
    So does my mom.

I do not. Thus, when we move in together, if it ever should become necessary, you shall be the one to do it! >:3
  • My dreams exceed my real life
My theory is that our collective grandparents and great-grandparents invented global warming because they had to spend their childhood walking to school for fifteen miles in the snow, uphill both ways.
  • the funny thing is that I did literally half to walk uphill both ways to get to and from school.

the path to school was on this weird dip, so no matter which way you were going you'd walk downhill halfway and then a steep uphill the rest of the way.
  • Popular anti SJ blog just reblogged my Star Wars diversity post

*flicks lights on and off repeatedly* welcome to hell! welcome to hell! welcome to hell! welcome to hell! welcome to hell! welcome to hell! welcome to hell!
  • this is why, when discussing something popular, you stick a couple slashes in the name
  • It's not something I'm irritated with on a personal level, it's mainly the fact that people are choosing to be just... such a load of fucking bitches about this.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
    Because they're petty racist morons.
  • Yeah. I derive a sort of satisfaction from confronting them and I like the attention on one level but on another... like, fuck, man, it sucks seeing how petty they are.
  • Will you please leave me alone about this

by all means if you find it distasteful you can tell me to take it to my personal, that might be for the best in all honesty

but you really harp on this whole "if people are bothering you you need to ensure you never ever confront them" and that is super not what I'm about but if it's bugging you I'll take it somewhere else

Also, wow, some of the ads from this era are amazingly desperate, almost like car dealership ads. Just about every big prebuid seller took out multi-page spreads, sometimes even doing fold--outs.

ANd hahahahah, Dvorak talking about the "586SX". While that didn't happen, the Celeron was (and still is) almost certainly a 686SX. 😂

I forgot what an empty spectacle the Super Bowl was. The motherfucking Broncos won it and it just feels like a thing that happened to me.

Also there was a point when I held football in much lower regard and was desperate for this season to come and go, which it has now. It is over, and I feel no joy at its end.

The bus driver just asked her passengers where the bus stop is.

This temporary reroute with the construction has even the drivers confused :|

Huh, they're removing the traffic signals at Summit Street and Maynard Avenue.

They've got stop signs in place, the signal heads are covered up, and the sign says "signal under study for removal".

  • I have two Sims 3 ideas and I'm not sure which one I should do
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    what ideas are those
  • Idea The First: create a crazy homeless family who live in a swamp called the Bubblegums, who consist of: an insane kleptomaniac father, a swamp princess mother, and an insane child or two.

Idea The Second: set up a Sims experiment in which I experiment on the Sims in different ways with varying levels of cruelty e.g make them all hate water and make the fridge only accessible by crossing a pool.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I say do the second one, For Science.

Building the facility as we speak.

Shall I make a blog about it? For Science purposes?

Decided to use a nice, big empty house and build the testing chambers inside the shell of the house. On the outside, it's a nice stately manor in a rich area of the town. On the inside... Not so much.

Here's my plan: the Sims will live in luxury for a couple of days and have access to everything they need, and I will observe what they do when left to their own devices. They will, for now, have uninterrupted access to the fridge so they can cook food easily, and have a nice living area and bedroom/bathroom. But then, things will start to change. The fridge will be blocked off by a pool, so they have to face their fear of swimming to get food, and there will be no more group meals and such. The showers and toilets will start to break with repeated use. Cabin fever will start to kick in. And then things will spiral out of control.
  • Oh, and they will have to spend 24 hours in an individual isolation room.
