unless they are actively intentionally made to be horrible and/or are burnt so much that the caste of burnt overwhelms everything

    “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
    ^^ Indeed.

The struggle to battle... I don't even know where this joke is going but I'm imagining banners and it's really weird.

^ Slightly burnt cookies are good, though.
  • i have a question: why are almost all cheap colognes aquatic
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
    As in water-based?
  • The most interesting thing about Evangelion, to me, is the Angels.

What does that say about me
  • no, as in smelling ocean-y and a bit androgynous with some woody/citrus overtones
  • The most interesting thing about Evangelion, to me, is the Angels.

    Is that bad?

    ^^^ *shrug*

Giant monsters are cool. Especially ones with weird powers based on snippets from the Qabbala.

ive noticed that dutch alligators, is what this says about me bad?
  • i like the big robots
  • MacDuffy said:

    i like the big robots

    and i cannot lie
  • see i'm not really interested in the giant robots part

nor the several conspiracies tripping over each other part

the navel gazing and character development part is more interesting though

but still not as interesting as the angels
  • you other brothers cant deny

when a giant octahedron starts floating around shooting laser beams and shit

you become mildly concerned for your safety
  • i wish there were a game that used the angel concepts in evangelion as major bosses

say, 15 angels by the same name, with abilities reminiscent of their evangelion counterparts
  • i like it when the big robots hit the angels
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”

no, as in smelling ocean-y and a bit androgynous with some woody/citrus overtones

    Oh.

    Laziness in making them?
  • like for example israfel would be a dual boss where you have to kill both parts simultaneously or they life2 each other
  • or whatever they call it these days

    life-uh?
    life-ara?
  • moar liek life aura amirite???

100-damage shield can't be blasted down with the mega buster!
  • Not a hybrid rabbit-skink spirit
oh i could throw you in the lake

or feed you poisoned birthday cake

i won't deny i'm gonna miss you when you're gone
  • what's SMT's big pretentious name for it
  • colorman's theme is fun

though for some reason i keep thinking "clown" when i picture that area

    even though it is traffic-themed
  • flipside - onry my lairgun
  • a celtain scilentific lairgun
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
This reminds me that I should watch Evangelion, if only for the giant exploding space monsters and everyone going crazy or being crazy. And End of Evangelion and the reboot, which sound hella wacky.

Actually, I have a lot of valid reasons to watch it even if I end up disliking it.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
Probably because they can get cheap "fresh scent" mix in 55-gallon barrels from a vendor instead of having to pay a perfumer to design a custom scent...
  • i have heard so many things about that show that it's like totally killed my interest in it.
  • Rawr!
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.

Also, if a perfume has citrus in it, that's because orange oil is dirt cheap.

well, tl;dr it's a show about character development and the maturing process, or lack thereof
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    character development? who wants that?
  • you apparently because you like boobs so much

    laughtrack.wav
  • what does the bible have to do with maturation
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”

i have heard so many things about that show that it's like totally killed my interest in it.

I thought that I was the same way until I saw clips of the film that caps the original series and thought, "This actually looks really cool."

    yes of course

Not the Bible, the Zohar. That's where the Angels/Disciples are from, name-wise.

But yeah, it's got a lot of mixed metaphors going on at the same time.

iv'e prolly seen the whole thing in .gif form 5 times over

    and the symbolism seems overwrought

the only thing that catches my attention is the giant floating octahedron that changes shape and shoots lasers

    image

    image

it's like the Gantz Graf music video but transformed into an alien that shoots lasers that's named after an angel

    that's p dope

do you mean the adam sandler movie
  • I think that's the Zohan...
  • he misspelled it

    don't make fun of him

The religious/Freudian symbolism thing is definitely overwrought, although I think that a lot of it is there because it's either fun or supposed to feed into the whole maturity/choice theme.

But yes, the monsters are really cool. Most of the visual elements are.

    aww yiss

In my opinion NGE is very much worth a watch

Also, if I remember correctly a lot of the symbolism is there less because "oooh symbolism" and more because Hideaki Anno was like "Christian symbols are cool, let's through in cross explosions"

Actually, what I personally find the best about NGE is the relationship Anno has with his fans, it's quite excellent

Confusing said movie with Jewish mystical scripture offends me, not because I am religious but because Adam Sandler is generally just not funny.
  • a d8 angel is an interesting idea

you could have it appear as various geometric shapes that are typically used as dice

and it rolls itself to determine its choice of attack

(NOT its attack power; that would be lame)

The episode with Ramiel is actually quite excellent

Mainly because in order to defeat it they pull out a bolt action rifle that is literally powered by all the energy in Japan
