Rarity at least DID recognize that she herself was being a drama queen, so I was OK with that. Admittedly, I have a soft spot for Rarity. So while it's silly that she doesn't want to "lay on the grass", it's hilarious that she brought an entire couch in-case the situation of her throwing her own pity party came up.
Also notice she's the only one with her own pillow when they're writing the friendship report.
So while Rarity overacting was a bit strange, it seemed like this was "normal" and that she's still functional despite her penchant for freaking the hell out.
Where's Twilight might accidently get a whole town full of ponies killed off if she or other ponies/dragons don't keep her psychosis in check.

Except The Cutie Mark Chronicles where she altered all of reality in an auditorium room as a child.
I think her magic capabilities are rather dangerous. Normally, Twilight is with it enough that this is a boon, rather than a danger. The idea that she's a missed deadline away from causing damage to people's livelihood is a bit unsettling.
