  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    It's also got skeletons

But still it's not that great a movie

I know you don't like Disney but still
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Sometimes I feel strange in that I don't like TV much anymore, but I don't think I'm very intelligent anyway
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

    1. You're very smart, actually

    2. What do those two things have to do with each other?

TV is for idiots or something? I dunno

My mind leaped to Mike Teavee

I always wondered why Dahl was so much less subtle with his surname than the other kids...it's like if Veruca Salt were named Veruca Greedie or something

Though if Matilda was any indication Dahl pretty much hated television anyway, so
  • Well, Dahl hated a lot of things, up to and including Jewish people.

Had to go there, didn't ya? :P

move along, move along, just to make it through

Dahl was a creepy guy, just read his horror stories.
  • For once, or maybe twice, I was in my prime.
It's slightly odd to think that the guy who wrote "Poison" could still be an anti-Semite. But not that odd, I guess.

yes, there were mammaries in it, but also other forms of insanity

Beyond the Valley of the Dolls has a scene where a hermaphrodite threatens a man in a nazi costume with a sword.

Roger Ebert might have been the greatest screenwriter the world has ever seen.

    Yeahhhhh........
Really though, you should read "Poison". It's a great short story. Screw it, if it's available online I'll nominate it for the short story club.

    Munch munch, chomp chomp...
Though I don't play Nuclear Throne, I'm fairly certain Rebel is the absolute best character, no argument.
  • but... YV though!

    Gene Simmons said dumb stuff.

It's a good thing KISS is mediocre, or I would feel like caring.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I always thought KISS were kinda ridiculous
  • Gene Simmons tells depressed people 'kill yourself'

next time i feel like killing myself im going to remember Gene Simmons's ugly face and i am going to live my life just to spite him

I like them, and I also like Crystal. But, only Rebel can summon a virtually endless supply of clones to attack, so really it's no contest with me.

Noel Gallagher showed more tact, knowledge, and empathy in his message to depressed people than Gene Simmons did.

    Think about that.

    THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS

Gene Simmons tells depressed people 'kill yourself'

    You first, motherfucker. tumut
  • Got a couple of M15 packs today.

Ended up with the new Nissa Planeswalker and the new Ajani Emblem. I am blessed, and also frustrated. You'd think they'd pair up the emblem with the planeswalker, but no, that might make sense.

“I have never sugarcoated my feelings regarding drug use and alcoholics.
Somewhere along the line, my intentions in speaking very directly and
perhaps politically-incorrectly about drug use and alcoholics have been
misconstrued as vile commentary on depression.”
You see, it's your fault you're offended, not mine!

    Think about that.
Because the former actually has the capacity for those things.

Darn it, I was going to say something stupid that I would regret later, but I decided not to.

Younger me would be so disappointed that I missed such an opportunity.

The Legion of Super Heroes sounds fun, but continuity ugh.

    Screw continuity!

...unless you're Grant Morrison, in which case everything is in continuity, but that's a special case.

Darn right I'm disappointed in you.

You're going to get such a swelled head.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
Like Legion of Super Heroes sounds fun and silly, but they seem to be a continuity snarl even by DC standards and there's no New 52 version to jump on board with.

They've probably published a big paperback with a bunch of their silver-age adventures, so maybe I should just read that.
