Anyway re gaming on phones, the thought mostly occurred because I realized that the second most important series to me on 3DS is probably Ace Attorney, and the last one of those came out on iOS a year later anyway. Which doesn't help me because I'm on Android, but still, the principle is there. It is true that there are a lot of 3DS games I wouldn't want to play without having actual buttons I guess.
Gaming on my phone is something I never really looked into because until last fall I had a phone with atrocious battery life and while my new phone is actually really good on that front I kinda keep forgetting that that's actually a thing I could do if I wanted.
screen cracked, it still works but the image was like trying to look at a vignette of a vignette of the display
I was disappointed but not really surprised, they're pretty fragile and I spent a long time without using it so it probably fell over at some point
I got two years out of it and some fun times, though! Loved me some Tearaway, Persona and Fez, and OlliOlli 2. I may fix it down the road when I'm feeling nostalgic and have Disposable Income, but that time is not now.
Mobile gaming is something I'm not opposed to in theory so much as in practice.
Like CA said, touch screens don't work for a lot of games and there's a bunch of things out there that try to get around it by bolting on "physical" controls to existing games instead of designing the port to fit the different input scheme.
Combine that with the piles of shovelware, shady business practices, clones and lack of optimization from the phone manufacturers and you get an industry where exceptional experiences are even more of a rarity than they are elsewhere. It is going to get better as the industry matures, however, and as the portable gaming and mobile industries converge we're going to see some of the talent and innovations from the former make their way into the latter. I can't wait for when it happens.
The only game I have on my phone is Canabalt, which I have played way too much of because it is the only game I have on my phone. It's pretty fun but I'm pretty bored of it.
I meant to work this fact into my last post but then I didn't.
The only games I had on my phone were stuff like Shining Force, Shining Force 2, and what would be other RPGs until I decided to stop downloading games on my phone.

I feel like a spoiled brat
I'm looking up luxury cars for my fantasy persona to be driven around in

Real heads of state travel with a huge motorcade with a bunch of cops and guards and ambulances and stuff.
I don't wanna do that. I just wanna ride around town in an armored luxury car with Anonus and Guardsman Payne.

...is the "houses" and "points" something real British schools do? As an ignorant American child I just felt like it was something made up for dramatic effect.

(Yes, I've been watching Extra Credits lately.)

If anything I probably should just so I have something other than Canabalt to play when I'm bored on the subway.
