well i think it ties into interesting questions about the limits of self identification because of course we do set limits and say otherkins are full of shit and such and in this case mordred seems like kind of a nutjob so maybe there's some possibility of denying their agency, but that ties into a whole can of worms that ha ha, no, it's anime i don't care

I mean I only know the anime (which is only two episodes in) but he doesn't really strike me as crazy or at least not moreso than is usual for Fate characters. I just kind of don't get why suddenly (as in like, today) people care about him "actually being a girl" especially when literally last week I had several people correct me in the opposite direction.

I am mostly upset that my attemps to have a fairly straightforward discussion were met with Fossilmaiden posting pictures of women from FGO and you basically going "whoa dude it's anime why are you THINKING about it".
Is it possible that Fossil knows something I don't because she [has more knowledge of the storyline / some other thing]? Sure, but I don't deserve to be treated like an idiot because I made like the most mildly snarky comment possible like two hours ago. That kind of thingis why I never come here anymore.
Not to mention this is apparently now another thing I want to like but oh sorry you can't like this thing without trying to simultaneously please two groups of people with opposite stances on some part of it, both of whom think that people with the opposite stance are idiots. This is like the stupid shit with Dragon Maid, or the god damn shipping nonsense with the LWA series.
You'd think my Discord server, in which a fair chunk of the members are actual children and we had to ban someone the other day for constantly spamming shit about IDOLMASTER, would have a lower standard quality of conversation than here. But somehow it's the other way around.
