I like the one where Calvin sez to the TV: "oh great altar of passive entertainment, bestow upon me thy discordant images at such speed as to render linear thought impossible"

  • I just realized I left my earphones at home, so I can't watch Steven Universe on my phone on the way back from work.

I suppose I could watch it AT work if I really feel like living dangerously.

Just got roped into a game of EmBurst by an old friend. My life is odd sometimes.

Speaking of old friends, I just realised that I've known some of you people for 6 damn years.

I need to be banned from making geeky jokes. Someone in my FF guild asked what DnD class Batman would be. My response? A truenamer, because he's broken and unplayable.
  • Isn't Batman broken in the way that truenamer isn't broken?

Wouldn't he be some minmaxed prestige class that can beat anything the DM throws at him?

The PC version of Arkham Knight was so buggy they offered refunds for it. (WARNING: JOKE EXPLAINING.)
  • I just wasn't associating that with Batman himself.

It's amusing, because I've been following Knight pretty closely in the past few weeks

Update: I have somehow become the GM through the magical power of coinflips. Guess it's time to shake off the old rust.

Maybe the reason we haven't seen Dubya since 2008 is that he's been searching for those weapons of mass destruction

We can do anything if we do it together.
Well, the Republican Party has basically disowned him and everybody else is (deservedly) angry at him for causing Iraq and Afghanistan to happen.

He can't really appear in public easily anymore.
  • Relatedly, I'm gonna start referring to "Jeb!" exclusively as John Ellis Bush, just to remind people.
  • bush is busy doing weird paintings
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    he is literally Hitler
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I hope he's hung as a war criminal before he dies.
  • We can do anything if we do it together.
It didn't happen to any other president, so it won't happen to him.

well here's the thing hanging someone tends to happen concurrently with them dying not before
  • he is literally Hitler

Can you really call Godwin's Law on a guy who exploited populist nationalism to massively expand surveillance, targeted members of a specific ethnic group for prolonged torture, and started two concurrent wars on different fronts based on false pretenses? No, he's not Literally Hitler but it's not quite the same level of hyperbole as most comparisons.
  • My dreams exceed my real life

    Czolgosz,
    Working man,
Born in the middle of Michigan,
    Woke with a thought
    And away he ran
    To the Pan-American Exposition
    In Buffalo,
    In Buffalo.

    Saw of a sudden
    How things were run,
    Said, "Time's a-wasting
    It's nineteen-one.
    Some men have everything
    And some have none,
    So rise and shine-
    In the U.S.A.
    You can work your way
To the head of the line!

    Czolgosz,
    Quiet man,
    Worked out a quiet
    And simple plan,
    Strolled of a morning
    All spick and span,
    To the Temple Of Music
    By the Tower Of Light
    At the Pan-American Exposition
    In Buffalo,
    In Buffalo.

    Saw Bill McKinley there
    In the sun.
    Heard Bill McKinley say,
    "Folks, have fun!
    Some men have everything
    And some have none,
    But that's just fine:
    in the U.S.A.
    You can work your way
To the head of the line!"

    Czolgosz,
    Angry man,
    Said, "I will do what
    A poor man can.
    Yes, and there's nowhere
    More fitting than
    In the Temple Of Music
    By the Tower Of Light
    Between the Fountain Of Abundance
    And the Court of Lilies
    At the great Pan-American Exposition
    In Buffalo,
    In Buffalo.

    Wrapped him a handkerchief
    "round his gun,
    Said, "Nothin' wrong about
    What I done.
    Some men have everything
    And some have none-
    That's by design.
    The idea wasn't mine alone,
    But mine,
    And that's the sign:

    In the U.S.A.
    You can have your say,
    You can set you goals
    And seize the day,
    You've been given the freedom
    To work your way
To the head of the line-
To the head of the line!

  • TF2 won't stop lagging to the point of constant disconnect warnings.

i had to reboot and reinstall the thing just to get it to the point of being playable.

Does anyone else tend to have nightmares in the summertime about snow?

    Not me
  • I wish I could dream about snow in summertime.

Also I did just watch Steven Universe at work. On their wifi. I should've just gone and used one of the big computer monitors instead of my phone, but that might've been a bridge too far.

It's like, I'll know it's summertime, but in my dream there'll be snow on the ground

Which wouldn't be so bad, except the way my dream logic works, I inevitably have to drive in it

^ I've watched Steven Universe at work before, but my job consists mainly of waiting for things to happen, so nobody would care even if they knew

    huh

this is almost the exact same thing that happened with Tony Blair over here, but somehow i never thought it would happen to Bush

i guess our countries are more alike than i realized
  • it occurred to me a few days ago that the reason that i'm not affected by my nightmares I have no emotions in my dreams, no matter how wonderful or mind-searingly awful they are

one of my earliest memories was that nightmare/vaguely erotic in retrospect dream about being bitten by a vampire and after i woke up from that i sat there for a solid minute in bed thinking "wow that was a nightmare, what should i do in the event of having a nightmare oh yeah you run screaming to your parents room" and then i went and did that
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    oh that having-trouble-feeling-"normal"-emotions thing?

    i had that too
