so, I was scrolling through some random blog and I finally learned why everyone was so upset about the new Fire Emblem game. (*in case you were not aware male characters are given the option of romancing a lesbian character via drugging her. yes, it is that heinously awful*)
and then, on the same fucking blog, they reblogged this post telling people how to buy a refurbished 2DS from Nintendo for around 60 bucks
what the fuck is fucking wrong with you people? where is your pride? your dignity? someone makes a game where you can rape lesbians and you just keep buying shit from them? what the hell?!?!?
and you know every single person who is upset with this is gonna keep buying amibos, they’re gonna buy whatever new pokemon games come out, they’re gonna buy super Mario supremacy XV: you jump on more turtles in this one, they’ll buy Splatoon II: Independence Splat, they’ll tune right the fuck back in to the Nintendo keynotes and ride the hype train and laugh and the Reggie memes and whatever the fuck they always did

Personally, I'm still likely going to buy it because I've always enjoyed the Fire Emblem franchise and it looks to still be what I like, trashier aspects aside.

I feel like you kinda have to pick your battles and while the thing in the game is itself absolutely stupid, I can't really claim that I've totally brushed off every piece of media I know that has had problematic or otherwise dumb things attached to it.

The net effect that I'm getting from both this discussion and various bits I found on Google is that, even if the whole Soleil thing wasn't outright conversion, it's still pretty skeezy and Soleil as a character is generally handled poorly, especially with supports with other characters.
