Ideally you should only wash hair 2-3 times a week with a non lathering shampoo anyways, unless your hair really, really needs to be washed more often.
I try to wash my hair once a week at the least. Usually on Sabbaths, before church. I don't usually put oils in my hair unless I'm going to church or a special event.

Another thing I notice about these early 1980s commercials is a lot of odd infatuation with Japan. It's like the Baby Boomers didn't care much about Japan or China (and fell back on old stereotypes from the 1930s!) until the whole "Japan takes over the world" thing started.

i have to wash my hair everyday because my hair is quite thin. so if it is the sslightest bit greasy it gets very obvious.
probably this isnt that good for my hair but a) i use an organic and super nice shampoo and b) due to my genes i am not going to escape this decade with a full head of hair anyway, so like, i have maybe 5 years of hair left, might as well make it look nice everyday
