Most cop cars around here are Vauxhalls and the like, with a couple of Merc vans.
Most departments here use the Ford Crown Victoria, but those have been out of production a couple years so newer cop cars tend to be different models...usually either the Dodge Charger or the Ford Explorer, though I've seen a couple Ford Tauruses (Tauri?) around, too.

i've never been able to stick with it for long
it's kind of stupid; it's supposed to be realistic (and probably is by soap opera standards) but it's extremely melodramatic and some of the stories are trite. the characters are almost always angry at each other, which gets tiresome quick
it can be quite funny though, and not always unintentionally

what's the significance of a green-amber light bar?
Nothing, really; it's just what private security here uses because in this state blue is exclusively for law enforcement and red is for emergency vehicles.
I only really mentioned it because, unlike the red/blue bars on the police vehicles, you can't tell the colors in the photo.

There was actually a big deal last winter because Ohio law was changed to allow green warning lights on snowplows
Previously they'd been limited to just amber, and let's face it, most drivers (myself included) have kind of learned to tune out amber warning lights

Just because of overexposure, basically. They're used on tow trucks, security vehicles, escort vehicles, construction equipment, and all sorts of other service vehicles, so they don't command attention the way other colors do.
