there is a gnu pascal compiler and also one of the original creators is a prof in the math department programming class thing i've ta'd for (though i haven't ta'd for him in particular)
I remember using a Pascal compiler thingy on FreeBSD years ago to try compiling some of my old projects from high school. I can't remember what it was called, but I think it predates GPC. (All of my projects from back then were written in Turbo Pascal, so Turbo compatibility was a must.)
Come to think of it, the entire history of the FreeBSD ports collection is in their SVN, I could probably look it up there.
I was impatient so I looked it up on Google Images, and yeah, I've seen a bunch of those on Street Views of the American west and wondered what they were for.
i think it's a neat design. you can have a fenced off but basically open pasture, and put roads through it that are passable but still act as fences for cows. not even a gate.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
The fact that Professor Moriatry ended up being Sherlock's arch-nemesis in every single adaptation is kind of silly, honestly
That's like going through all of Superman's stories and deciding that Doomsday is the single most important element of his rogues' gallery that must be brought to the forefront. But no one would ever make that mistake.

I think deciding that a Holmes adaptation needs a recurring antagonist at all is the real mistake.
Once you've started down that path, and you've decided to elevate one of the canon antagonists to that role rather than introduce an OC, then Moriarty's the best choice by virtue of actually recurring in the original canon (even if all his non-death appearances are prequels) and by Holmes himself acknowledging Moriarty as his nemesis.
The Holmes canon is like what you'd get if the original "The Death of Superman" revealed that Doomsday was actually Superman's greatest foe, because he was the criminal mastermind behind the actions of Metallo, Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid, etc., all along.
In order to get the full effect of Moriarty in the Superman mythos, you'd need, like, another Darkseid. Like, Yuga Khan was secretly influencing evil itself from beyond the grave and focusing it on this one dude from Kansas. Or, alternatively, something like what Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? did with Mr. M.
But yeah, Holmes generally works best when it focuses on the mysteries and the people wrapped up in them rather than the characters.
And also, leave Irene Adler alone, she's a married women for chrissakes.
Bojack is trying to be a good person - trying in a self-centered, parasitic way and failing as a result, but trying. Rick has long since given up on trying because he lives in a world where it doesn't make any sense.
I like both and find that there's a sense of heart to both, though as noted, if you're looking for it in Rick you're looking in the wrong place
For as much as he might just seem like he's there to act as the "OH SHIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING" to Rick's "fuck this #yolo," I'd say Morty's arc of doing his best to make sense of a multiverse that doesn't is what gives the show a proper counterbalance to the inherent nihilism you get with Rick
I know I shouldn't complain, but I hate Google. It's creepy and weird to suggest possible searches like you know what people are about to ask, and it's creepy and weird to search for what you thought I meant rather than what I meant.
Dang it, if I tell you to search for references to the United States of Amerrica, don't give me something different! And don't personalize results! If I tell you to search for something in quotation marks, do it without suggesting otherwise!

Also, the sliproads onto the M6 have cattlegrids.
Woman: Where are you heading?
Me: Gretna [Green, where people often elope to get married.]
Woman: Oh, are you getting married?
I have a double bed to myself, and free wifi and digital TV in my room.
I am happy.
