I've been doing my 9th ascension on this character for forever simply because i'm trying to get to level 30;.
It's not too bad, really. For about 10k I can get my moxie up to 4000~ for 45 turns, and then going to one of the areas with scaling monsters results in me getting about 500 mainstat a fight or so.
Admittedly, at this rate it'll still take 1000 adventures or so, which will cost me roughly 225k...which is about my savings. =/
Luckily, I've got a hot egg in reserve, so I can sell that for an extra mil if necessary (though I'd prefer to hold on to it, it'll probably increase in price). I'm also trying to get a Jick Psychosis Jar and sell it while it still has a fair bit of value.
Yeah, I never really got into the KoL Items Market. I took advantage of it to get a million meat by selling Crimboku items at a slight bargain, but that's about it.
I know I've mentioned this a million times before but it kind of bothers me how little respect Runescape gets from anyone. It's actually really good. Really flawed too, but still fun.

I know this sounds crazy, but the biggest downfall of Runescape is the gameplay itself.
The music is good, the graphics are pretty damn good for the format they're using, the skill system is amazing, and the quests and minigames are tons of fun.
Too bad most of the game is lots and lots of repetitive clicking.

I have yet to see anyone say anything about Runescape that wasn't a defense of it, so....
It costs $10 and has about three hours of gameplay. The site says that it has about four or five hours, but the site is not trustworthy on that point. It's also available on Steam (and you can probably get it on sale if you wait for one of Steam's many holiday sales).
Best approximation would be an RPG-Maker Visual Novel. It's ostensibly a romance. One that deals with memories and developmental disorders. It's pretty good.

It's kind of hard to explain, but there's a bit more to it than that.
So, after browsing TVT, I found out some freeware games, one of them being Advanced Strategic Command, which seems alright so far, though I've only done the tutorial.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
I'm playing an old PC Engine game called "The Manhole". It's an old-style adventure game (for all ages) where the whole point is just to explore and have fun. That's it. There's no win scenario, really. Anyway, it's based off of a Macintosh adventure game and as such it has old Macintosh GUI elements in the game.
The exploration is shades of Yume Nikki and LSD, but years before.
There's also Crimson Frontier or whatever, linked on the website for ASC, though I tried the former and found it a bit confusing because the UI is mostly not there.
Okay ewww what the fuck. While the demonic horror gorey stuff isn't that shocking in it's current pixelated form, all the nude torture happening to the teenage lead bugs the shit out of me.
I can't believe I found a game that actually revolts me.
I can see how it does the whole "non-standard game over" thing like Resident Evil 4 did where you died in different and generally horrible ways, then it goes into the territory where losing is more horrible to watch than it's supposed to see.
Like...where the bagged man rips your intestines out from your vagina.
But But....usually you guys are pussybergs when it comes to guro and depravity, I thought I would be able to handle it, you know, and it was just...overplayed a bit.

I tried to find a working image of this game years ago and I couldn't. That's the one with the beanstalk growing out of the manhole on the cover right?
It's not a perfect translation (it's a FOSS project, which means "constant WIP"), for example, vehicles don't have heat sinks and heat mechanics implemented for them, but it's otherwise a nice time sink.
If you're going to play it, I recommend getting the map and camo packs linked on the Downloads page.
Well, Devbuilds tend to have more features, but if you want something that is least likely to be wonky, go with the Stable builds. In my experience, the dev builds don't crash or anything, but I dunno how they stack up against the stable builds.
