This is software-related:

When I deleted Cream's account, the option I chose broke wiped out other people's posts in threads he was the OP of. Sadly, no database backup prior to April exists, so anything after that is gone for good.

Lee is installing a script to ensure that something like this doesn't happen again.

This is not super important at all, but would it be possible to change the gender settings to add a "Classified" option? IJBM II seems to have an account settings option that changes the "[IJBMer] changed his/her profile picture" to "[IJBMer] changed their profile picture" in activity and I was wondering if we could do that here too.

Feel free to not worry about this if it is annoying to mess with, since activity is the only place where any of that really comes up.

Huh. The "WYSIWYG button" TinyMCE patch doesn't work all that well (it only works in certain places, and not at all on the mobile site, and the other one appears to replace the default Vanilla editor and requires patching Vanilla to work properly.

A simple one that can do italics, bold, hyperlinks and IMG would be nice, since typing angle brackets on most Android keyboards requires pressing two different shifts and makes things really tedious.

I haven't tried it yet but I suspect it's the same old thing as the video embeds, where if there's any sort of HTML tag touching the code the parser fails to, well, parse it. :\

Is there any possibility of letting the user choose a plain text editor for entering posts, rather than the WYSIWYG one? Or is that an issue with the forum software beyond your control?

When I'm using a keyboard—which is all the time, because I don't have a smartphone—I prefer to type the tags myself, rather than clicking a button with my mouse. I can compose messages faster when I don't have to take my hands off the keyboard.

I think that such a thing would not only require some kind of special markup system wherein posts could be hidden, but some kind of mechanism by which a poster would have to determine the nature of their own post and mark it as such or have a mod hide the thing manually. That strikes me as unfeasible and undesirable.

Granted, I am neither a moderator nor a coder, so I cannot say for sure. But in my humble opinion, it sounds like more trouble than it is worth.
