As far as taking the KKK’s messaging in a new direction, national director for the Knights of the KKK Thomas Robb has made a few minor, superficial changes at the top — things like changing the title “imperial wizard” to “national director”
But the goofy titles were the fun part of the KKK.
I mean, sure, it's still an organization dedicated to wiping my people off of the continent, but it was also an organization that forced its leaders tor refer to themselves as wizards.
Duke first received broad public attention during this time, as he endeavored to market himself in the mid-1970s as a new brand of Klansman: well-groomed, engaged, and professional. Duke also reformed the organization, promoting nonviolence and legality, and, for the first time in the Klan's history, women were accepted as equal members and Catholics were encouraged to apply for membership.[83] Duke would repeatedly insist that the Klan was "not anti-black", but rather "pro-white" and "pro-Christian."
And then, amongst the fanperson love juices (:P) and the people who are just using Geocities because they haven't gotten a domain yet (check out all the schools), there's the random teenager who thinks he's so totally cool.

I'm never sure what level of seriousness people are operating at
I know the Web of the late 1990s wasn't quite as slick and professional as it is now, but banning someone and giving a rant straight out of r/atheism as your rationale is kind of a dick move. :P It's dickish enough that I have trouble believing it happened. (It also doesn't help that i know nothing about FortuneCity's early history.)
I really want to post a reminder that the results of the TIME web poll have nothing to do with who they choose for their list (or else Moot would've been Person of the Year a while back) but it's probably not worth it.

I've been on an unintentional semi-hiatus from Tumblr for a while now.
It turns out that when you actually have a job, occupying your time with Tumblr is less appealing. At least, for me.
I don't plan on abandoning mine any time soon 8ecause it's too much fun to rp Vriska there. And I generally like Tum8lr if I can stay away from the worst of the social justice stuff (talking stuff like the "white people are all racist shitheads" or "die cis scum" types, not stuff that's legitimate social issues like representation and police profiling and that kind of thing).
That said I do feel like an old lady there sometimes (especially when I get a follower who is 13), but I've seen and talked to people on there who are a good bit older than I am, so...
This post frustrates me and honestly I'm so sick of this kind of thing that I don't even feel like justifying my frustration anymore. It isn't a consistent problem with this person so I'm not unfollowing either, it's just something that bugs me immensely.

You know what just perplexes me? Tiny, insignificant UI changes
Like, some developer at Tumblr felt the need to change the button in the corner of your own blog from saying "Customize" to saying "Edit Theme"
Well, it makes it more clear what the button actually does. I know I've clicked on it a few times because I forgot it doesn't mean "change blog options".

That's true, I suppose.
Really, though, the whole interface needs an overhaul if they want it to be intuitive. Why, for instance, is editing static pages on a blog something that's done from the theme-changing screen?
What pisses me off about Tumblr the most is how much they allow people to render their blogs fucking unreadable. Half the time I read it on my iPad because the mobile app formats stuff the same.

Heh, same. I keep wishing there was a "view this blog as if it were the dashboard" option

A long time coming.
I'm too attached to mine to let it die, even if it would be at the hands of me getting a life
