I think that helps highlight the sort of diverse usages of Tumblr.

I know some people here use it more as a platform for their opinions, while others of us have other focuses that we don't want disrupted because people have drawn battle lines and picked sides.

But yeah, despite that tumblr had it out for Frozen since the first images came out, I'm finding that most people who watch the thing actually like it.

It might just be a mass occurrence of 'complaining about things you don't watch'.

Mind you, the same face thing and the general lack of female characters (as far as I know) is still kind of an issue.

Looking at that GIF I was actually disappointed at how subtle the clipping error was. I basically don't give a shit about Frozen, but clipping errors can be interesting. It looks like they actually did a pretty good job hiding it.

It kind of reminds me of this one portrait in the Renaissance or Baroque style. The subject of the picture has her shoulders unbalanced in order to help the aesthetics.

From what I've gleaned from the pro-Frozen part of tumblr, the animators were doing the same kind of thing with the clipping error. There was an unclipped version, but the clipped one was chosen because it was more aesthetically pleasing.

Getting a tumblr just to have better access to blogs you like or a better ability to search stuff on the site does not seem unreasonable to me. As far as I can tell, having a tumblr account does not come with the requirement that you post often, if at all. Plus, if you happen to have something you feel like posting at some point, it might be nice to already have a blog set up.

Honestly, most "Tumblr etiquette" is pretty straightforward stuff...tag spoilers so people can avoid them, put exceptionally long posts behind a "read more" break, etc.

What's harder to pick up on are the various quirks of the site itself--like the fact that an original (not reblogged) post will only show up in the pages of the first five tags it has.
