I hate Axis Powers Hetalia, it's loud, annoying, and the characters are Flanderized versions of nations. As much as I hate the show, I could accept it if not for one thing: The absence of Singapore. I mean, Sealand got a character, why not frigging SINGAPORE. Singapore is important, people, it has awesome people in it.
Also, what the heck just happened there. Trigun's messing with my feels all over again. That was sad as all pasta.

Forget Singapore (well, don't, you know what I mean) What about Australia?
Have we talked about Attack on Titan yet? Cause holy butts, I haven't liked something as much since I first got into Berserk.
Given the comparisons of the former to the latter, that does not surprise me. I'm personally going to wait until the hype dies down before I start watching it, though...
All hype aside, it's got an interesting story and consistently great animation (I'd call it movie-quality, frankly). I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Speaking of Berserk, I watched Descent recently. It's by far the gnarliest of these movies, which is appropriate considering the chapter it's adapting. My issues with the other ones still apply here: wonky CGI, scenes are rushed or skipped entirely, and important characters are left out for no discernible reason (where's Godo?).
At the same time, however, this is easily the best of the three movies. The animation is pretty stunning, and the story of the Eclipse is concise enough that length isn't an issue. I find it odd that the movie that kills everyone is much longer than the two movies that introduced them, but I guess there's a reason I'm not writing movies.
An I tge only one holding out hope that Free! stops being an anime about attractive guys doing stuff and swimming, but instead veers into psychological horror? Like one of the guys kills a dude and they have to cover it up and weather the investigation. And shit gets worse, bonds of friendship are tested and people start unravelling until the water bottle guy picks up a fire axe and nothing can go back to normal ever again.
I've never heard anyone talk about Free as a feminist masterpiece, just people lapping up neckbeard tears by the bucketful.
Besides, not every feminist piece of media has to be a masterpiece, or even aiming for one. Why shouldn't some of it be a cash-in? Sometimes I just want the media equivalent of junk food, and there's no reason women* on tumblr can't feel the same way.
I'm exaggerating about the "most overrated thing ever", but Little Witch Academia has the same sort of Gainax cult following as NGE or TTGL without actually being as good as either. I mean, it's only twenty-minutes, and if it were an actual anime I'd give it the four-episode test, and the animation actually was pretty good, but man, the fanbase.

Also, I had no idea that LWA was made by Gainax, though anything Gainax related is likely to be over rated because of the aforementioned rabid fan-base.

Well, it was made by Trigger, which is almost entirely old Gainax employees.

There is that too but there seems to be a fixation that sexist people crying over it makes it a brilliant piece of something something. Tumblr is weird. I don't really mind people liking it (I like my share of silly, mostly plotless anime) but there is a sizable contingent that oversells it.
And honestly I haven't had any contact with the LWA fandom since I stopped following shinychariot, so I wouldn't really know what they're like anymore. Though when I last checked it was mostly people bemoaning the fact there wasn't more of it.

This is an acceptable trophy.
Also, Speaking of FMA, my sister showed me this and I can't stop laughing:
And the same scene in Japanese (skip to 1:23):

Attack on Titan is one of those things people seem to either love and fan over or just consider the worst thing in the world.
Also the swimming anime premiered today. So that's a thing.

I tried to watch Berserk and couldn't stand all the violence.

This is my favorite out of the SnK Openings
I'm basically part of the SnK Opening fandom and not the SnK fandom itself.
It's weird.

They do realize that it's a show created for the sole reason of cashing in on a fad, right?

It's only 6 episodes long and contains one of the best Anime soundtracks of all time, OF ALL TIME!
You should watch it.
