I just realized that because Michael Keaton will play The Vulture, there will be tedious thinkpieces about how the new Spider-Man movie is clearly a "response" to Birdman

I never got why so many Americans seem to consider 24-hour time incomprehensible
Nobody in the UK uses 24 hour time in conversation, since context is a thing that exists, we just use it on all our digital clocks. In writing people generally use whichever, although it skews 24 hour.

Dangerous opinion: Virtue signalling can exist, but 90% of the time when it's deployed on the internet it's a cheap ad hominem accusation and it doesn't really have any place as a move in the game of rational discourse

It's kinda funny really, cause pretty much nobody in the UK actually knows how far a kilometer is in practical terms even though we officially use metric. Like, we know it's 1000 meters, but if you say something's 2km away, we ain't likely to be able to visualise the distance.
It's basically anyone who argues with the sort of person who goes 'well, here's my anecdotal evidence of how all the black people I grew up around were assholes, so I'm going to argue that stereotypes exist because there are actually people like that and that's an excuse to to generalize my personal experiences to either the entirety of black people or a large but not largest possible subset of particularly poor and underprivileged black people whom I shall distinguish from 'the good blacks' by calling them niggers'
Anecdotal evidence might have been a mistake, you guys. It might have been the biggest mistake ever made.
I am starting to think that the actual bad thing is the human inclination to have this conversation every day regardless of what we can do about it at 10PM on a Sunday night.

Why is the only version of "Grown-Up Christmas List" anyone plays anymore the Generic 2000s Cover by Kelly Clarkson?
