it was a stupid situation and, idk, i always felt in the interest of professionalism the mods needed to appear united behind Eddie, but that wasn't fair on you at all
quasi-relatedly is anyone else at least moderately tired of people on tumblr making half-assed jokes (sometimes with a side-serving of ill thought out reflexive homophobia) about things with "manly" branding/marketing
granted i havent seen that sort of thing in ages but i feel slightly frustrated just recalling it

I find the "manly" branding to be tiresome and I wish it would go away, though if others want their "masculine" essentials that everybody uses, I see little reason to personally think on it for more than a few moments.
So yes and no, about equally, since I also find tired jokes a little irritating.
Isn't "Manly" branding also in a way just promoting Homophobia? I mean, often-times they're telling you that you need this "Man-thing" because It's a "Man-thing" and not a weak "girly" thing.
the presumption that the only possible appeal of manliness is through contrast i.e. "it's not girly" is quite frankly absurd
While I, as a fan of ABSURD MACHISMO, understand that, you have to admit that a lot of gendered branding does have the implicit "if you don't want this, then you might as well be on the other team" feel
Sure, we're smart enough to appreciate manliness on its own merits, but marketing execs aren't. That's why they're marketing execs and not people who contribute to society.

No one on Tumblr minds Old Spice, but they do mind Dr. Pepper. For once the reasoning isn't arbitrary.
What I’m saying to you this morning, my friends, even if it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, go on out and sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures; sweep streets like Handel and Beethoven composed music; sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry... go ahead. Sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will have to pause and say, "Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well."
Old Spice marketing execs are the exception that prove the rule
I believe this is partially because they were originally twitter bots who went mad with power, secretly puppeting Old Spice's marketing department from the inside
It's like they almost achieve self-awareness, but fail
It also proves my earlier point. Implying that romantic comedies and fruity drinks (both the sort of thing a homosexual-coded caricature would take interest in) are against the spirit of manliness is kinda homophobic?
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

Oh well, I'll drink it regardless.
I chuckled at "sodashame", though.
