There's a store outside the church my family goes to. When I'm forced to go, they just let me chill out there.
That is good. Nobody should be forced to go to church.
It'd be nice if you could stay home, but it's a step above a lot of families I know.
Now you're just reminding me of how I wish I went to church when I was younger, though didn't for a variety of reasons. ... really, same could be said for right now.
In the churches in Shanghai and here, the main chapel building can never hold all the parishoners. So they set up TV screens and sound systems and seats.
In Shanghai we went to this one gigantic church that could seat like five hundred people but it was still not enough. They put TV screens in the rooms and put people in there. And then they put stools on the lawns. And then people would just sit on the ground or stand up.
maybe it's just cuz I went to a small church for a lot of my life
honestly if that church (Our Lady Of Perpetual Hope) was never closed down I might still identify as Catholic today. Switching (back, technically) to the larger St. Mary's made me uncomfortable, a lot of the parishoners didn't like kids.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

In the Philippines, there are certain occasions where it is expected of people to go attend Mass even if they are not religious. Christmas and Easter are among them. I'm not forced to go to Mass every Sunday, thank God.
Play an imaginary platformer game using the decorations of the church.
Why is this something someone other than me does
As for me church is awful mainly because of ADHD and the tension of being around Religious Authority Figures, but I wish I went more because there is a good feeling associated with it
1. the music, which is comforting and feels sacred (though not because of its lyrics, and church music is not the only thing that can be sacred music, to me)
2. the homily, when the pastor is not talking about focusing on faith or about political issues but is talking about how to be a better person

The Over-Empress of Britannia demands her streets of gilded splendor be clean of trash both human and non. Grab a hobo-poking stick and clear the way for our benevolent and all-powerful overlady. All Hail.
no they are 8-feet tall green humanoids that live under particularly tall bunkbeds and can only be defeated by slashing them across the face with a blade of pure silver

i like how in girl genius there's been no depiction or real description of england is doing, except that it's been ruled by "Queen Albia" for centuries and "to go against Albia of England's merest whim is literally unthinkable"

Nobody can get after you for doodling, and it's a really good way to stave off boredom.

Sincere response: You should probably go to bed, my friend*. I hope you find peace and comfort.
*It's late where I am, I should be getting to bed.
When the pastor stops praying and starts preaching, I'll pull out Fire Emblem.

But, I've been going to church since I was newly hatched. It's as home to me.
I practically grew up there.
