  • My dreams exceed my real life
    We'll remember you forever Eddie
Thru' the sacrifice you made we can't believe the price you paid
    For love
  • My dreams exceed my real life
WHATE’ER is born of mortal birth
Must be consumèd with the earth,
    To rise from generation free:
Then what have I to do with thee?

The sexes sprung from shame and pride,        5
    Blow’d in the morn; in evening died;
    But Mercy chang’d death into sleep;
The sexes rose to work and weep.

Thou, Mother of my mortal part,
With cruelty didst mould my heart,        10
    And with false self-deceiving tears
    Didst bind my nostrils, eyes, and ears;

Didst close my tongue in senseless clay,
And me to mortal life betray:
The death of Jesus set me free:        15
Then what have I to do with thee?

yes i admit it, I don't like TF very much
  • Know your lines? Of course you know your lines! But I don't want to just hear your lines...I wanna hear what's in YOUR SOULS!!
I'm still completely euphoric about the fact that Craig Bartlett answered a question I asked on a podcast
  • i do have difficulty conceptualizing a good Transformers property, but hell, 5 years ago I would have said the same thing for MLP
  • Did something in particular happen with MLP within the past five years?

Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Transformers has plenty of good stuff.

Aside from IDW, there's Transformers Prime, which is a good cartoon. Animated looks interesting, but it's not to my tastes. There's Transformers Devastation, which is basically Decepticons May Cry. War For Cybertron is pretty okay as a game. Even the old Marvel Comics are pretty neat.

ok it was like a bit ago but still, awfully anti-chartreuse up in here.

You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I'm not sure which is worse: UPS, who leaves packages on the doorstep without even ringing the doorbell; or the US Postal Service, who won't even bring the package to the doorstep if they can physically cram it into your mailbox.
  • I know I have had packages placed in my mailbox that I really had to wrench out of there.
  • image Wee yea erra chs hymmnos mea.
I was confused for a second and then I remembered that your letterboxes aren't generally in your doors.
  • it's like, how did you even get that thing IN there in the first place and I swear if anything is damaged I'm gonna go postal on a postal worker.

I was confused for a second and then I remembered that your letterboxes aren't generally in your doors.

It varies with the age of your neighborhood, but in suburban developments like mine the mailboxes are post-mounted at the curb:

    image

Mail trucks are some of the few vehicles in the US with a right-hand drive setup, so the mail carrier can shove the mail in the box without getting out of the truck.
  • And then there's FedEx.

My best friend bought a Dell server a few days ago that got fried because the delivery folks left it out in the torrential rain, despite the fact that he left the garage door open specifically to prevent such a thing from happening.

    The World On Time, indeed.

imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
    that's awful

i think the Royal Mail would probably leave it with a neighbour if they couldn't deliver it

or just leave a note telling you to collect it from the depot
  • At least mine will bring it to the door if he can't cram it in the mailbox, but more often than not he tries the cram option.

Also there's this bizarre urban legend in America that a mail truck has priority over a police car or ambulance because it's operated by the federal government instead of local authorities

Naturally, traffic laws don't work that way, but that doesn't stop people from believing it regardless

where I live there are not mailboxes in front of houses, but one big mailbox for each area

where I live there are not mailboxes in front of houses, but one big mailbox for each area

So you have to walk to the end of the block for your mail every day?
  • Also my mailbox is one of the ones like Centie posted (though mine's white) but it's across the street and not just at the bottom of the drive.

Hegel even suggests that the spiritual differences of the races correspond to the geographical differences of the continents they inhabit, which seems to mean that the superior culture in which spirit finally comes to itself could *only* have developed in Europe (because it “reveals the unity of the undifferentiated unity of Africa with the unmediated antithesis of Asia, since in it mountain and valley are not juxtaposed as two great halves of the continent as in Asia, but everywhere penetrate each other” [p. 41]). The supposed indifference of Africans to freedom corresponds to the undifferentiated nature of the African continent, etc.

Today in "ridiculous theories of racial superiority"
    this is awesomely bullshit

Wow, a class where you can't test things.

    I couldn't imagine such a place.

I don't mean just testing. Like an English class where you just learn metaphor and apostrophe and etc and you don't get to read

My dreams exceed my real life

    Etymology-Man is great

While the word ‘atheism’ has been used in something like this sense (see for example Antony Flew’s article ‘The Presumption of Atheism’), it is a highly non-standard use. So understood, atheism would include agnosticism, since agnostics are also not theists. However, on the common understanding of atheism – no divine reality of any kind exists – atheism and agnosticism are mutually exclusive. Some insist that this non-standard sense of ‘atheism’ is the only possible sense, because a-theism meanswithout theism. But if that were a good argument, the Space Shuttle would be an automobile, since it moves on its own (mobile=move, auto=by itself). Ditto for dogs and cats.

pitch bending works. now i have transcended scales, and everything sounds out of tune with everything else.

also like loud mono buzzing. i should get a proper stereo output, and more importantly, fucking volume control. unfortunately the filter is built in so i can't just throw in a pot to scale the analog output. digital makes everything annoying
