Yeah I think that the satire is the reason I prefer Colbert, while Stewart's style of overreacting to things isn't my taste. Still, they both provide interesting commentary.
That said, I don't go out of my way to seek them out.
It's kinda odd, how -- despite being very interested in (electoral) politics -- I don't have a huge interest in watching people talk about politics.
Well, of course. This is the Internet. I mean, the colouring and basic technique is there, and that's a lot more than one can say for some. But it is wonky.

I've been watching Touhou fan games for most of the night, like I used to do. There are some nice fan games! I feel a strong desire to create a beautiful danmaku game with nice music and relatable characters. It's not like I haven't had the same ideas for some time, but just, I don't feel like I can do the actual creation part.
I don't think I've ever seen the British Isles balkanize quite this badly.
That's The Kingdom of Scotland under Robert IV as the dominant power in the region, followed by England under Edward VI (of house Lancaster!), then you have The Most Noble Republic of Ireland led by His Excellency Cadwgwan Sarsfield, the Kingdom of Wales ruled by Iorwerth III, The Republic of Cornwall governed by President (?) Ruan Menhenick, and lastly, the Free County of Northumberland, with its illustrious leader First Mayor Alan Cavendish.

I think I will re-approach Danmakufu, being the plebeian that I am, if only to experiment with it. In the past I gave up on it because of confusing version discrepancies and the general inadequacy of information in English. But I feel like trying again. One time I got through some version 2 tutorials, at least. >_>
Everyone who has Steam and is friends with me should be able to find the game by searching from here while logged in. You need to be logged in because it's limited to friends right now.

The seven kingdoms of England. Mercia, East Anglia, Kent, Wessex, Essex, Northumbria and Sussex. Strathclyde in the north, Gwynedd in the west, and Ireland and the far parts of the north other affairs entirely.
Not something that lasted past the Norman Conquest, but food for thought.

Bleh, life feels like a long series of technical difficulties. I'm too dumb even for Danmakufu experimenting, let alone "serious" programming. I wonder if I will ever be good at anything. *le shrug* Good night!

Also, as I expected, Danmakufu doesn't work perfectly on Wine because lol Japanese text, and I can't even extract other people's scripts, let alone play them or look at them, probably because Linux or something, but I have a feeling they wouldn't work anyway because Danmakufu keeps udating.
Nah people believe this about Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs because people don't like good games.
this is an opinion people have about any video game that's not Pac-Man.
Pac-Man is an atrocious game
From it's shameless retro-attempt to appeal to eighties kids, to it's idiotically simplistic gameplay, the whole package is just insultingly indie. Ghosts are added, perhaps as some sort of ham-fisted symbol of death, and the whole game revolves around eating flashing pellets, perhaps reflecting the creator's obsession with food. Pac-Man himself controls like a sack of potatos, and the whole game seems destined to be played by those who have only played classic games through the use of emulators and save states.
Fine, if you're one of those insipid manchildren who prefer hamburgers to steak, Spec Ops to CAVE shooters, beer to wine, and Russell to Nietzsche, but for those of us who are adults, Pac-Man offers little.

I think Wine can see and use the Linux system fonts, so if you have Japanese fonts installed from a package, you should be able to use them in Wine as well. Try going to a page with Japanese characters in a web browser in Linux, and see what happens.
If you get boxes, try installing the "ipafont" packages (if you're on a Debian variant, anway).
Regarding Gunnerkrigg Court's weird early art: I like to think (even though it's almost certainly not what Tom Siddell intended) that it represents how Annie sees herself and the world around her. She grew up in a hospital, so now that she's been yanked out of that environment everything around her feels alien (except the supernatural creatures, ironically enough), and she's acutely aware that she doesn't really fit in. And since she's our viewpoint character, so her alienation is represented by everyone looking like exaggerated cartoons, and Annie herself having a head like a handegg. Then these character designs get less exaggerated as Annie grows closer to Kat and more at home in the Court.

Oddly, I have Japanese installed; it's just that some Windows applications with Japanese text will show boxes. I will look for that, though. :D
