Man, I should really remind myself to stay away from opinionated old farts sometimes. Especially people who write about computers as if the world ended when their LISPM died. :P
and even the not weird ones tend to be hella preachy
but you'd think mormons would be in favour of avoiding drugs, promiscuous sex and caffeine
YEs, but also, we'r in favor of avoiding violence and lawbreaking, and not beating up people.
We're also, well, we mormons traditionally only eat but a very little meat (Changing in recent decades because nooooo ali, we can't have nice things), but we're not to the level of animal liberation as to release pets into the wild.
Yeah...maybe it's that there rock music they don't like. (Welcome to 1980, Grandpa.)
i guess? but then wouldn't they consider punks in general be considered a gang?
i dun geddit
Punks are gang-ish, even if it's not a named gang, it's a bad lifestyle. Drugs and rebellion, and promiscuity. Disregard for authority, graffiti, and all that.
Naw, we're fine with rhythm and blues, jazz, and early rock. Doo-wop, soul, funk, it's fine.
We don't do rap, metal, or stuff like thrash, grunge, shredding, sludge. Stuff that sounds just unpleasant.
Aliroz, I am normally pretty tolerant of your very straightlaced lifestyle, but I will not sit idly by while you say the genre of music I both create and listen mostly to is unpleasant.
In fact there's a good chunk of rap I'm inclined to think you might actually like.
That's probably true, I haven't been exposed to much rap.
But yeah, this sounds good to me. I'll have to check out more of this stuff.
I mean, it's slow enough that I understand the words and the drums aren't so loud as to be dominant.
I do, in fact, object to the line, "advance to the tune but don't do the hustle"; because, clearly, the proper response to any situation is to DO THE HUSTLE! ooooooooooooooooooooooh DO IT OOOOOOOOOOOOOH DO IT
Also, sadly, kissing the part of the pie that's missing does not, in fact, make there be pie there. I truly wish it did.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Had that song stuck in my head in digital art, and when I learned that Pandora wasn't blocked on the school computers I tried getting it to play but when it finally did the bell rang. RIP.
i don't think he's badly injured, but i went in to investigate and there was blood everywhere. His hand has some pretty large cuts, not deep but large, and there's a lot of bruising.
Mum and dad were both out. It's lucky i was here, really.
But it was bad enough that mum came back early from the St George's Day concert where she was singing... she's been practicing for this continuously for the whole time i've been back here.
the doctor's coming to look at grandpa's hand tomorrow

are you trying to disenfranchise them further
they already have no senators or representatives
follow the smoke to the riff-filled land
Because I'm poor. ;_;
But the straight edge movement itself is not a gang, and as far as gangs go, you could do worse than one that mostly targets neo-nazis.
I don't know why you guys are so down on it.
Not everyone has nice things.
I mean, there are kids who entertain themselves with aluminum cans and bits of twine, with bottles and pebbles.
Give 'em some big boxes and they can make forts and stuff
I mean, it has little boots. Little boots!
-I'm a sucker for boots-
And I can brush her hair and feel that hair, and it's soft.
