I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Also, why do people gush about In-N-Out Burger so much? No one from around here seems to gush about Good Times that obsessively (though I'm not a burger guy)...

Fun fact: To "go with" someone as a euphemism for casual dating goes back at least to the nineteenth century, and the euphemistic "go home with" may actually be a few centuries older.
Also, less, uh, chastely, "to come" in its coarser sense is really old. From a "loose song" from 1650: "Then off he came, & blusht for shame soe soone that he had endit."
Yes, but in the mental way of "I have never contemplated just how or what or why this piece of thing is the way it is, so thus confusion."
It's like pinky toes on feet, they're barely functional as toes, they're really more like small stubs of flesh. you can mentally know all this and never really think about it.
i'll link him that, thanks. Worst comes to the worst he can always work through the list of free recording software until he finds one that does the job.
How much antipathy does he have towards piracy? Alternately, how willing is he to really work at making something good with difficult tools?
i'm not sure how he feels about piracy...
tbh he's never struck me as someone with much patience with things that are difficult, but this is for his degree so i daresay he'd be willing to put in a lot of effort. Time is a constraining factor, though.
Also, what kind of music does he need to create? Will chiptunes suffice? Is electronica demanded? Is composing something for a midi rock band okay?
Furthermore, if he's a musician himself he might be able to record himself playing music and add that in. Just make sure it loops correctly or you have gaps planned for the loop.
What it sounds like is entirely up to him.
He doesn't have recording equipment, though, and isn't really a musician (he can sort of play the keyboard, but he doesn't have access to one right now and he's not all that good).
i recommend getting a Totally Legal version of FL Studio due to the easy learning curve when starting out, which is important considering that he probably is facing a deadline
there are lots a free trackers which are ideal for making chiptunes, but those are much more... formidable.
it's also really cheap for a DAW so he could actually buy it later if he needs to.
he has some programming experience (Java), so i don't think he'd be totally averse to getting to grips with interfaces that aren't particularly intuitive at a glance

I don't know why.
Which chain do you think deserves that title? I'd nominate Braums.
I've never even heard of Braums.

i'll suggest those to him.:)
i'll suggest that, too.
Thanks, everyone. :)

less obnoxiously quirky and easier to read
