Hello.
I miss the summertime.
I know there's another on the way but I worry it won't be as good/fun.
I had a series of increasingly convoluted and strange dreams last night and I don't remember much about any of them.
I remember one involved a superhero (?) named Bloodletter whose power was that she could mix her blood with any substance and it would create a golem thingy. That was cool I guess.

I had a weird dream too but I can't remember much of it.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Just got up half an hour ago, that's how
Reading Deadline's article about Amy Pascal (the head of Sony Pictures Entertainment) calling on Hollywood to tone down the gay slurs
Even if she's being hypocritical (I hear that 21 Jump Street, a Columbia/Sony movie, had a lot of gay slurs in it), I still think she raises a good point
But the fucking comment section is flooded with homophobic Bible-thumping conservatards no thanks to the Drudge Report >:/
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
the reason Amy Pascal is saying these things is not because she's trying to make white conservative Christians feel threatened, it's because the LGBT community is at a legitimate disadvantage, you fucking morons, and needs better representation in the media (that or brownie points, but still)
of course the "worst part of prison being the homosexuality" is partly wrong, it's that most people don't like the idea of being raped

I wonder why stop signs are octagonal.
I mean, the obvious reason is "it distinguishes it from all other signs because no other sign is octagonal", but I wonder who first made them octagonal...because a red octagon seems to be a nearly universally-recognized symbol by now.
(Which is kind of impressive when you think about it, considering red stop signs have only really been around about 60 years.)
AU: At this point, I've learned that Internet comment boards are pretty much worthless now, since they're invariably going to be filled with stupid flame wars, stupid people, or loads of spam.

Deadline's not usually bad, and at times I actually find comment boards to add another dimension to a story...helps that sometimes these people know more about the subject matter than I do.
How would I go about making my own self indulgent ebook thread?
dig up random posts of yours and post them in a non sequitur manner
or just bang out non sequitur sentences and word salads
that's what I was gonna do
The #yackfestoracle gives me access to Markov text strings derived from my past three years' worth of comments on that IRC channel. This is why I can have my own self-indulgent ebooks thread despite not having made too many quotable posts on here yet.
