...It's after 8 AM now. My father is in bed and everyone else is at work and school.

Ok, the headache has come. Which probably means it's time for me to give up and just go to bed.
The past couple hours have been a LOT of fun, though. Good night.

Not on Microsoft Windows, I don't think.
I think I got it with one of the Corel demos I installed months back, when I was first experimenting with road sign drawings.

I associate "In A Big Country" with February-March now.

Yeah.
[It has saws and rocket boosters and chases Sonic along the side of a building. Like before, it still crashes, though. And its music now has a bit of Green Forest's in it.]

My mind has leaped to the Pizza Planet truck and Pixar's tendency to include it in all their feature-length films.

Fuck, I still need to watch that movie. It's sitting tin the bottom of my DVR.
Also I always liked the inclusion of a "Binford" toolbox in the first Toy Story.

Double reference: Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Home Improvement being a product of Disney division Touchstone Television. Eventual triple reference, to not-long-in-the-future corporate cousin ABC.

I never picked up on the Touchstone Television thing, mainly because at the time I was too young to know who owned what.

I don't think you had the Internet then, and Touchstone is Disney's pseudonym. They purposefully play down their connection to the brand, even though everybody knows it's them. (Also, at the time, Touchstone Television was nothing more than a brand; it would become a full-fledged entity around 2000.)

I don't even think my family had a computer back then.
The first computer I remember using was my mother's work computer, around 1996 or so. She worked from home at time the time, so her employer provided her with a computer system and a second phone line, so she could use the dial-up all day without tying up our phone line.
And the company she worked for was an ISP, so we got free internet access for personal use, too.

Initially, Microsoft Windows 3.1.
After a few months the company let her upgrade to the then-new Windows 95, but they insisted that she download the installation files from their servers--and keep in mind, this was dial-up--because they didn't want her going out and buying the floppy disk set and charging it to an expense account.

I do too.
In this case, I think the fact that so much Kafumann's signage was left behind indicates that Federated knew damn well that City Center was a lost cause. (And indeed, the store only operated as Macy's for a bit over a year before shutting down.)

I remember when the City of Columbus tried to evict Simon from their lease on the property; I think in the end the city just ended up buying it outright.
One of Columbus City Center's more memorable features, to me, was a big enclosed bridge across High Street that connected with the existing Lazarus flagship store.
After Lazarus closed, the bridge remained open, but with the entrance to the store walled off, so it was basically a hallway leading to nothing. This was the case for a few years until the renovation/restoration of the old Lazarus building started, and the bridge was demolished.

And you know what's crazy? It had only been open since 1989! Less than 20 years from open to close.

According to Wikipedia it opened in 1974 and 1975.
...Weirdly, three of the four big remaining malls in the Columbus area are fairly recent. Eastland Mall dates to the '70s, but The Mall at Tuttle Crossing and Easton Town Center opened in the '90s and Polaris Fashion Place in 2001.

You know what's sad? The part that surprises me isn't that they wanted to get rid of black shoppers, but that the leasing agent openly stated that they wanted to get rid of black shoppers.

I don't understand what's so problematic about people of any race shopping at their mall.
And I downloaded Sonic Generations's OST (which doesn't include the hub music and I wish it did). I notice that its version of "The Mad Convoy Race" (which is now called "City Escape (GUN Truck)") is barely touched from the original.

I'm not saying I agree with the racist stance, just that it's unfortunately common.

I know, but I thought I should make that clear, seeing as how this is a publicly-viewable forum and all.

Well then.
...ugh, I should be in bed and here I am listening to Sonic Generations music. Even in the game itself its version of Unleashed's Egg Dragoon music underwhelmed me.

And I feel ready to fall asleep at any momnet.
And that logo looks cooler in black-and-white than it does in color, though the original color version is loopier. That music is loopiness incarnate.

...do you wanna know what happened to the truck from City Escape in Sonic Generations?

You know what's weird? Buzz's batteries in Toy Story 3 were made/sold by Buy-N-Large.

Where is that?
Anytown, USA
Note also the poorly-placed apostrophe.

(Simon Property Group continues to own both of them, having bought Columbus City Center and Colorado Mills from the Mills Corporation.)

Also, the overhaul from Aurora Mall into the Town Center at Aurora had a rather nasty motive with it. Also, notice the Neutraface on the drawing of the mall's prospective new exterior.

Goddammit, I'm wondering if NBC will can Days of our Lives as soon as they can (next year).
