At this point I'd say England played a more interesting game than either of these. The most action we've seen so far this match was the bit when two players went for the same header and bumped heads. That looked painful.
Iran v Nigeria was dull. Iran were predominantly defensive and nobody was expecting much from them anyway, but Nigeria played like they were half asleep.
Stoppage time is calculated fairly informally; the officials keep track of the time taken by each injury on their watches and add it to the end of the half, and 30 seconds are added for every substitution or booking.
Extra time is actually a different thing. It's 30 minutes which may be added to the end of a game in the event of a draw.
ghana looked the better side for a lot of what i saw of that match, but credit to the USA - ghana didn't finish well, were wasteful with their long range shots, and the us took advantage
with Pepe and (probably) coentrao out of Portugal - USA, and portugal having a terrible goal difference, the states might fancy their chances of getting through this group. a draw could be enough. i hope they do it. wanna see ronaldo crying again
First goal of Algeria vs Belgium. Penalty deservedly awarded to Feghouli after he was pulled back from receiving the cross. Taken calmly and accurately, but you could tell he was glad to see it go in.
