Let me count the ways this is horribly deluded:
By the time SuperDisk was a thing in 1997-1998, Zip 100 had a 4-year head start. It was highly unlikely Imation would make a dent in it, because:
Zip was a non-standard format, sure, but being able to break with the standard PC floppy controller and 3.5" format meant they could spin the disk faster and get true hard-disk performance. The Zip 100 was about on par with a slow IDE drive (still okay by removable media standards in 1994), whereas the LS-120 is more like a Seagate ST-225 or MiniScribe 8425—XT-class MFM drives—in speed (both in seek time and transfer rate). Think "CD-ROM running at about 2x" and you get the idea.
There were a bunch of formats floating around between the introduction of the Zip drive in 1994 and the rise of USB Mass Storage and Flash keys in the 2000s that were trying to make removable media cool outside the Mac market. All of them have long since died, either due to lack of interest or major design flaws (oh hai there, Sony HiFD), though recordable optical media has managed to stay relevant for a few niche things.
At first glance it looks like a flat star-shaped spool for thread, and indeed it does seem to have thread wound upon it; to be sure, they are only old, broken-off bits of thread, knotted and tangled together, of the most varied sorts and colors. But it is not only a spool, for a small wooden crossbar sticks out of the middle of the star, and another small rod is joined to that at a right angle

The post in question. I don't really feel like bringing up anything in particular against it on Tumblr because I haven't seen KlK and I don't want to get into an argument with one of my friends over it but this post seems to make two big mistakes:
mistaking a depiction for an endorsement
not taking cultural divides into account
Also I haven't seen the show so I can't really say anything but wouldn't a much more obvious analogy for the outfits be puberty? I mean, the blood thing makes it seem kind of blindingly obvious.

A lot of people saw the first episode or the first couple episodes and decided the show was horrible (in the defense of those people, Episode 1 really isn't that good, and the first couple aren't nearly as good as the show would later get, and had a problem with occasionally coming off as preachy).

That post kind of misses the point by a long, long mark, particularly with respect to the scene she mentions in episode 16. Additionally, by not watching past that point, the blogger misses the fact that this show proceeds to subvert those very assertions in some very interesting ways. I mean, I can understand where she would reach a few of those conclusions, but it seems like she has taken a negative interpretation of a few things and used them to speak for everything that happens in the show, which is just absurd.
Also, why would you even waste your time watching something for that many episodes if it makes you that angry and uncomfortable? Or did she just pick and choose which episodes that she watched, or read what other people said about it and extrapolate? I don't get it.
Really, Kill la Kill has some questionable aspects, but I think that this particular analogy is pretty faulty to say the least. There is some symbolism related to sexual assault and patriarchal stuff used later that resonates with a few of the things that she mentioned, but the resonance in question is in the exact opposite way that she implies (minimum spoilers: "wedding dress"). And even then, the show's entire point is not to be deconstructive so much as it is to be as eye-poppingly ludicrous as humanly possible.
About eight minutes in to the first episode. Quite good so far. I like how Ryuko being basically a gender-flipped shonen protagonist doesn't seem to be for the sake of fanservice.

A lot of people saw the first episode or the first couple episodes and decided the show was horrible (in the defense of those people, Episode 1 really isn't that good, and the first couple aren't nearly as good as the show would later get, and had a problem with occasionally coming off as preachy).
