The moral of this story is that all of us, including Todd, should listen to more Chamillionaire.
This series doesn't seem terrible and the video made me laugh a few times despite my not wanting to so I suppose that's something. Maybe I'll watch more of them sometime.
About the Lil Flip thing: He does mention off the top that it probably seemed like a good idea at the time, but what strengthens ties within the hip-hop community is not the same as what assists in greater visibility outside of that enclave.
Also, finding the Chumbawamba episode of OHW is suffering incarnate.

I actually don't mind the video I'm kind of nitpicking on purpose.
He's clearly kind of....out of his lane though.
I would maybe like this more if it were about some pop-rock group.
Yeah, Todd's thing is more, well, pop music. So whenever he talks about hip-hop he's looking at it through the lens of "whatever charts on Top 40" stations. It does seem like he could cover certain songs better if he partnered with someone who knew about hip hop.
Also this whole videos appears to implicitly accept the premise that nitpicking counts as genuine critique, and the critique stands and falls based on the validity of the nitpicks.

The AVGN's description of how to reboot Ghostbusters properly sounds exactly like what Abrams did with Star Wars, and The Force Awakens was ultimately entertaining but narratively bland.
I think it's okay to execute old ideas in new ways, personally.

How can I regain the IQ points I lost by watching that video?

I know from my personal experience that Drake is a big-time repper for Toronto, and I'm sure there are others like him for other cities.
Again, I actually live in Toronto, so I think that informed my perspective there.
