IanJQ, the lead storyboard guy, said they work way ahead--like over 100 episodes ahead. I don't think that's how many they have in the can, but that number's probably pretty far ahead too.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Peridot could have really easily reset to the 'antagonist' position after the robot fight in 'Back To The Barn' and I really appreciated that they didn't.

it would serve CN well to keep this material under wraps in the future and/or inform the people who make the show of their plans (if they really, truly don't know and aren't being NDA-ed into saying they don't know)

how '90s
and yeah it'll be neat to see what she does with a fifth season

I know it won't happen, but sometimes I fantasize about everything being solved at the end of season 2 and the remainder of the series showing SU fulfilling its destiny as The New Pepper Ann.
It won't happen, but you can't tell me you wouldn't watch that.

also, apparently Log Date was the final episode of season 2, meaning that the second season only had 26 episodes, and there was no word of this until recently
I am wondering if the subsequent seasons of the show will only be 26 episodes as well. If the Summer of Steven has monthly bombs from June to August, that at least means more than half of season 3 will be aired in that time.

But yeah, the halving of the seasons seems like a budget thing. CNS is producing something like a dozen shows right now (along with SU, off the top of my head, I count Adventure Time, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, Clarence, We Bare Bears, the Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack revivals, and OK K.O.!), and that adds up. Time Warner doesn't have infinite finances.

Perhaps the shorter seasons explains why they went from the planned 4 seasons to 5 seasons?
