So first I hung out with my fellow Homestucks, which went alright. Then most of my friends left early to get food and say goodbye to another friend, and I had to stay behind because we were doing a food drive and I was the one renting the car to take it to the food bank. (Which I didn't mind too much, because I'd gotten to hang out and say goodbye with the dude last night, but still.)
Then the car I rented...I don't know what was wrong with it, but I drive it like half a block and smoke starts coming out of the back right wheel. I don't know what that was, but it must've been in the car too because I was getting light-headed and I could taste it for a little while afterwards. So I pull over, call the company; they send someone to get it towed and call a cab, which takes a while to get arranged.
But then it turns out the place I was told to take the food to is closed on weekends, so...I went through that for nothing and I've got a bunch of cans of food just hanging out in my apartment until Monday when I can figure out something else to deliver them, and I feel bad for not pulling it off today even though it's not really my fault.
Still. bluh.
It was mostly fun hanging out with them though. It was someone's birthday, so we had a pinata shaped like the Matriorb.

Something I noticed when I was driving home today:
You ever been behind a truck that partially obscures a traffic light? If you can see the red and yellow bulbs, and see that they're not lit, you assume the green bulb is lit, don't you?
Seems like that could be a potentially dangerous assumption in some cases.

The puppets are amazing looking, though their movements are a bit more...obviously puppet like than much the staff in Labyrinth. Some of the sets lack detail, and it's pretty apparent on blu-ray.

I got a new, two-zone sweet ass-wine cellar (which is just a fancy term for fridge that holds wine bottles and only chills things to like, 42 or 54 degrees).
It holds 18 bottles, an upgrade from my old one that does 12 (which I still have, it's just been relocated to the garage).
Now...I just need a larger mini-fridge...
Also, Friday and I want to a Chinese Hot Pot Restaurant for the first time and it was awesome.

Giant Eagle, eh? The one nearest the house is in an old Big Bear. For a long time they left the interior mostly untouched, so going inside was like stepping back in time to the Big Bear of the mid-'90s.
Then they had to go and completely remodel the place. Assholes.

I wish I could find pictures of the interiors of Big Bear stores, but seeing as how they shut down just before digital cameras became a big thing, they're kinda rare.
Specifically I'd like to see Big Bear's last look. I thought it was cool at the time, even if in retrospect it was the epitome of "It is the 1990s and I am not ashamed!"
(Thought not as much as, say, Incredible Universe.)
