you ever think about how intense homestuck fanfiction was
like. fucking hemostuck had like so much worldbuilding and work put into it it it would've been a popular work of fiction on its own. there were -stuck aus of just about anything you could think of. it would be cool to see another thing that inspires that level of fannish creativity. undertale has almost reached that point but not quite because tbh i'm already seeing the hype for it die down while homestuck was a train with no stops for like two years straight
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
It's only the one video and I think it's really worth watching right now, after you've read a bunch, or even as you begin, because it does add a lot of context that I wasn't aware of.
There are some points where I had to rewind things to fully digest them because my attention was torn between admittedly relevant visual things and fairly complex ideas being explained—for instance, the role of the Horrorterrors as daemons in a kernel—and the whole reversion-to-type thing was something I still have to mull over a bit. But overall, it wasn't at all technobabbly, and very straightforward and entertaining about some very dense ideas.
Now I'm wondering again if anyone has ever actually "won" Sburb, and what the ramifications of doing so are. It's been established that you can create a universe without actually going through that door on the victory platform, and it's also been established that a primary function of Sburb is to create new universes...but it's also been established that if Lord English is fucking with your session, you're not going through that door (and your session will likely have a Tumor in it, or another anomaly like Feferi's lusus).

So, then, the question is: What does it do?
The Tor Books guy once suggested that there was a kind of Gnostic subtext to it, given that the implication is that universes are created to be destroyed in order to create other universes and that what the surviving kids and ghosts are ultimately striving for, besides defeating Lord English, is to make a home in a new universe that is not destined by the cosmic order to be destroyed only to spawn another.

That sounds pretty much like where I was going with it...some way of "undoing" SBURB (or even destroying it completely) and making a universe that stays put.
I'd say "you have plenty of time!" but it seems that may no longer be the case
("seems" being the operative word, because how many years have we said "this is it. the last year of homestuck" but unless that percentage counter just stops at 90% this may be it)
anyway i got every stupid conversation in meenahquest one and there are some ones i missed
Spoiler:
there's one where maryam goes on an actual long feminist rant that's pretty good and probably would have made me understand what kankri was actually caricaturing better, thank god i didn't make a tumblr post about my concerns
and there's one maryam tells meenah that the condensce and also negaradia are seemingly in power but also sort of manipulated by douchenozzle, and meenah gets really angry at him and it kind of rules
and there's one where kankri awkwardly writes sonnets to pyrope's hair follicles
i mean jesus
serket even mentions it after but it's p uncomfortable
There's also a bit of an Easter egg where you can sneak onto the meteor as Negaradia. She acts like a completely different person if you talk to any of the human kids as her. Then at the end of the meteor, Hussie is in Aranea's booth.
And Hussie outright said somewhere (Tumblr, I think?) that he intended for Kankri to be Social Justice Done Wrong, and for Maryam to be Social Justice Done Right.

i ask because even rewinding and pausing it in places, i felt it was sort of hovering on the very edge of what i could comprehend a lot of the time
like i came away feeling i *might* have mostly understood it, but i will have to rewatch it at least once when i have the time to be sure
what i understood seemed really convincing and on-point though
