More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
A lot of things in this comic that seem like minor details turn out to be significant, and sometimes things thousands of pages ago are explained and fit perfectly. It is beautiful. ^_^
I was getting that vibe. I share that kind of mindset and ambition. But by the same token, I am not the same kind of writer that Hussie is in many other ways.
I could digress about that, but I shall keep it elsewhere. Maybe to the writing thread.
Also, TANGLE BUDDIES! Just... Hussie pulled out all of the silliness stops here. I think he's even referencing his early strip Humanimals with the MANTHRO CHAPS.
(And I've decided that I'm going to keep liveblogging in Garamond, because, again, why not.)
So, by this point the Wayward Vagabond is rappelling down the capsule, but an odd thought about Jade and Becquerel occurred to me while I was retrieving food: All of the children's parents or guardians possess only one defining facial feature and one unusual head aspect. This is not true of Jade's taxidermied grandfather, but it is true of her magical dog-creature.
This is clearly significant, but whether it symbolically or literally marks him as her parental figure and what that actually means is still unclear. I look forward to finding out.
^^Fun Fact: The original music for that flash had to be removed because of creative differences (meaning that Hussie did something that the original composer didn't like, and the original composer blew it out of proportion and left the site in a huff). He also tried his damndest to get said music off of the internet, but the internet tends to find a way.

Also, Vodka Mutini. So cute.
Very good! Most people don't recognize that the first time around. I won't tell you whether it's significant or not, but I will give you a gold star!
So, Dave is installing SBURB. Lot happened between then and now, including some truly insane time-travel tomfoolery and the introduction of the trolls. The way that Dave responded to AT did not disappoint; that was seriously one of the most grandly disturbed dick jokes that I have yet read.
...at which point we come to [S] Enter. and the end of the third act. Wow, that was a thing.
So, Nanna drops the book through the aether which causes her mysterious fatal accident in the past, Jaspers is resurrected as a tentacled princess sprite, Jade receives Dave's copy of SBURB through the ancient amphibian temple which is also Prospit!John's tower in her dreams, and John goes on a rampage leading to his entry to the next tier of the Incipisphere.
Cans was one of the best bits for me. Wonderful bit of wall-breaking humor there.
You should be approaching the Act 4 Opener, which is essentially a fancy speedbump. The comic will go over the events that occur there, but feel free to take as long as you like.
^^ The desert wanderer in that one part was suspiciously similar to the Wayward Vagabond, and the Midnight Crew are of the same species as Jack Noir and the aforementioned Vagabond, so it made sense.
"But he will not be drinking delicious juice, oh no. He will be choking down a world of hot piss and it will serve him right for liking all those dumbass movies unironically."
So, Jack Noir just handed the Parcel Mistress a sword and told her to off two people basically just to make her go away. Guy is... exactly what you would expect in the chief paper-pusher for an evil kingdom.
Speaking of which, is the Black Queen one in the same with Snowman?
I CONJURE THIS INTREPID FANTASYSCAPE WITH TEARS BLED FROM THE WISDOM-WEARY EYES OF FIFTY THOUSAND IMAGINARY MAGICIANS. I PULL HEAVY DRAGS FROM THE BRUMES OF INSPIRATION WITH ENCHANTED BELLOWS MARAUDED FROM A GUILD OF CHURLISH MYTHICAL DWARVES. VAST BULBOUS RIDDLESPIDERS PUSH THE SILKEN STRANDS OF PURE WHIMSY THROUGH HIDEOUS ABDOMINAL SPINNERETS AND IT IS THAT WITH WHICH I WEAVE THIS AUDACIOUS COCOON OF EXQUISITE LIES. AND WHEN IT HATCHES A GREAT MOTH OF TITILLATION WILL AWAKEN AND ROAR AND BEAT ITS WINGS, AND THE POWDER SETTLING DOWN WILL ARREST THE HUMORS OF AN ENORMOUS TERRIBLE OLD BEGGAR, RELAXING THE VULTUROUS LEATHERY VICEGRIP HE'S FIXED AROUND YOUR CAPTIVE MIND.
Actually, Hussie's plot summary clarified a lot of the cryptic stuff pretty nicely. Instead of just being a silly breather, he made his appearance useful. I like that.
