So...if Twighlit's house is a library, does she have ponies showing up at her house, and going through her rooms trying to find books?
It doesn't seem she's set up like Rarity where Rarity expects ponies to show up at her door and look at her dresses on display.
I think Ponies show up to Twighlits to ask for a book, and she can find it give it to them. But it's not like she runs her house like a librarian would run a library.

Well, I think she was set up at library.
Maybe it had fallen into disuse, or a new library took it's place and the whole thing sat abandoned until Celestia banished sent Twilight there, and she figured Twilight would need a place for her HUGE collection of books.

That seems true. The Ponies seem to have like the odd piece of fiction here or there, but you never seen much in the way of bookcases or the like in Pony homes.
I'd imagine when what you're going to do for your entire life is tied to something you figured out in your early teens, you don't need to indulge in much else.

They're probably not wrong. Money received for a pony toy that's going to a little girl spends just as well as money received for a pony toy that an adult male is going to keep.
Not to mention they can now license tee-shirts and other stuff aimed at adults and make money off a demographic they weren't expecting.
Course, there's going to be any number of children who are going to get their first dose of internet weirdness because of this.
But, they where probably pretty fucked to begin with, given how important and weird the internet is in everyone's lives.

Sometimes I wonder why Hasbro bothers with YouTube takedowns in the first place when they do them so sporadically that it doesn't really make a difference.
It almost seems like a deliberate lack of effort, as if the higher-ups insist they do it but they don't actively want to drive away potential merchandise sales.

That very well could be.
Higher-ups assume that a video on YouTube mean less people are likely to get the episode off iTunes and therefore they loose money.
But the younger people in charge of monitoring this know the bronies will find a way to get the episodes for free, so it's just a waste of time and resources.

That happens throughout; it's one of those inconsistencies that seems odd to me. The mane six, depending on the episode, are either outright famous, well-known within the Ponyville community, or basically nobodies.

my god that is one of the most contrived things I've ever seen.
When you say contrived, what do you mean? Like, all the dangerous situations conveniently happening? Because that was rather bizarre.
^That, but that bothered me less than the whole of Ponyville suddenly acting like Rainbow Dash is some nopony, which felt kind of forced to me.
