yeah i'm p sure there are some other artists that do similar stuff in the Artificial Intelligence series, but ambient techno/IDM has never really been my thing
I don't suppose anyone has any idea how to play these "compressed" .flac files that put the entire album onto a single track? I've gotten them in torrents a couple times and I have no idea how to play them.
I am very near 100% sure that I read something wherein it was proven that there is no objective difference in sound quality between .flac files and high quality .mp3 files.
Honestly I prefer to not make myself aware of higher quality sound if it exists. I've listened to .flac files before and not noticed a real difference, I prefer to keep it that way honestly since .flac files are sometimes hard to find.
Also I have poor hearing so it's possible I simply can't discern any differences that might exist.
there was a separate avant-garde section with like a shitton of Wolf Eye, Merzbow and John Zorn albums there was even a copy of that Wolf Eyes w/ Anthony Braxton album, which was cool
unfortunately for anyone who expected me to get any of those albums there were a bunch of kick-ass d'n'b albums so i picked up Photek's Form & Function, Source Direct's Exorcise the Demons and Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch
also there was an additional section within the jazz section for free and avant-garde jazz but most of those albums were like 20 bucks a pop so not today
i did not even go look at the hip-hop section but it was like fucking massive
also the "modern rock" like fuck
also there was a small separate industrial and goth section but it was pretty boring aside from Laibach's Macbeth (*i'm p sure Macbeth is the only laibach album i've never listened to*) and that Foetus's Blow
ALSO there were a bunch of DJ /rupture albums!!!! so yeah i was spoilt for choice
DJ /rupture is one of those people I have avoided listening to almost solely based on the kind of person who I have seen praise him. Which is a really bad reason to avoid listening to something, but nonetheless.
also you live in Minnesota of course the hip-hop section was massive. It's probably 80% Rhymesayers albums.
idk man it was like 1/4th of the warehouse, i'm pretty sure that even if they had every rhymesayers release it wouldn't be half of it.
also idk anything about the type of person who listens to DJ /rupture, i ended up picking up some of his stuff a while back because he was on Tigerbeat6 and he gets lumped in w/ breakcore a lot, but he isn't really, he's a rather eclectic turntablist who does lots of good stuff, some breakcore yeah but lots of dancehall and stuff

I am coming to your city.
I do not know when, but I will do it. And then I shall bring St. Paul to its fullest potential raid your record stores like some kind of musically-inclined highwayman.
The precise number of Zorn albums is irrelevant. They have a more-than-decent assemblage of strange and interesting albums that I would totally buy in a heartbeat if I were in the vicinity and possessed moolah in any capacity. Also it is near you. That is nice, both for you and for me.
Hey Mo if you're still looking for more music in the vein of The Orb, I just remembered something. Ambient Theology by Virus. "We had a studio at this point and we thought we were the Orb or something." I'm not a big fan, but you might like it. http://wormsign.wordpress.com/virus-1993-2000/
Holy snap, Xera released a new EP and I didn't notice. Well, there's technically no new songs, just completely acoustic versions of old songs, but they sound super great. Except for Verval's singing on the first track.

Though it was one of the things that was lost during my harddrive failure.
why does this happen to me constantly?
oh well, everyone's asleep so I can just listen over my speakers. Mad annoying though.

That's what I use because I am simple.

I like Foobar's little sad alien cat logo.
i know nothing about audio formats but if you listen to the two one after the other it becomes obvious

How dare you use logic to poke holes in my stereotypes of northern hip-hop listeners.
you show this to me when I have no headphones and am in a public place ;-;
Are any of these good jumping-on points for someone who's not really a fan?
the worlds only blackened symphonic djent band finally put out an album
it is every bit as gloriously cheesy as you would expect
I should have.
