I've reached a point where there's nothing especially obnoxious on my dash.
Which just leaves me feeling strange...without anything to get mad at, the experience feels empty somehow.

I actually shit myself when I read that. There I realized I wasn't just dealing with the usual horrifyingly egotistical Troper Tale. This person will BREAK YOUR PENCILS without a second thought. Should he meet you, without any regret, he will DESTROY your beloved pencil collection. Your Crayola, your HB, everything. That beloved pencil you had for three years? Snapped in two with no remorse. Even if you reinforce your pencils to try and stop him, he has a good friend, even better in the arts of pencil-snapping. And when he is done, you will be nothing, sobbing in a heap of pencils as broken as your dreams. And he will laugh. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I find it hard to do any personal blogging on my personal blog
I don't feel all that connected with the hundred-some people who follow my blog, at least not enough to talk about my life
I know a bunch of people I met through tumblr in real life now, so that makes whining feel slightly more productive (for lack of a better word).
Of course, that also means that sometimes the whining is too close to home to do on there. Which is part of what my personal thread here is for, I guess!
but still, deleted or not, I still don't like the amount of control Hollywood has over popular culture and its discussion and criticism. Yeah, sure, there are freeloaders that still torrent whole albums like this is still 2003 and they don't have a choice in the matter, but the heavy-handed approach just makes it look like you only want rich, white People in the Industry discussing The Product, not normal people.
I'm skeptical of that post just because all it says "this isn't happening", while the other post (this one) is rather detailed and has an entire tag detailing their experience (which goes back a few months and includes other people saying it's happening to them too). So out of the two of them, it seems like this one is less likely to be wrong and the "listen up blogs are not being deleted" is just someone who hasn't seen it happen.

Yeah. It's not an art form anymore, it's not a shared experience, it's a Product, and like any fly-by-night business, criticism is bad for business. People have compared the RIAA to the Mafia before; I think a better comparison would be the shysters that sell diet pills and supplements. They sell people products they know aren't very good because they can, they get litigious when people try to ask too many questions, and there is practically no regulation whatsoever.

The tendency to attribute Tumblr's dumber decisions to "Yahoo" as though it's a separate entity is mildly irritating.

Honestly, I should probably cut back on the "Tumblr users" thing because it's a bit like when AU used to go on about "nerds": I have a specific subset of people in mind, but I can't articulate whom, so I use phrasing that unintentionally implicates a much larger group. :\
I'd say "the kind of people who hassle vastderp" instead but only like two of you would know what I'm talking about.
I get the kind of people you mean, if it's any consolation. It's not all Tumblr people at all, but it's a very visible segment thereof.
