I don't like it, conceptually. It seems like a logo that was designed and adopted because their target audience of 20-something males love '80s nostalgia.
Classic case of fixing what isn't broken. The one they had fit the network fine, unless they've decided to go into a different direction since I stopped watching TV regularly.
It's also going to be strange associating things like Conan and American Dad to... that.
They for some reason chose not to debut it/phase it in during the beisbol postseason, probably because the graphics for that all have the old logo on them
The old logo was more conceptually fitting and clear.
I like Troika, and the logo itself is fine, it's just that there's the suggestion that Time Warner is a healthy, lively, vibrant company, instead of the stagnant pool of bureaucracy it is.

Generally if you're hired to rebrand a company your job is to make it look like your client is a healthy, lively vibrant company.

Yeah, it's your job, but you know me and Time Warner.

Well I just figure it's worth mentioning because if your career goal is to run your own design firm there's gonna come a time when you're tasked with designing a logo and brand identity for a crappy company

...whoa, somehow it never really registered to me that that logo was a drawing of a real person.
I mean the old logo was very dated and I'm astonished it's lasted as long as it has, but still, it has more heft and less generic sterility than this does.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Also, I just know they're bringing out more ESPN ripoffs for Super Bowl 50, because the stuff they're using now was brought out for Super Bowl XLVII and is also ripping off ESPN.

it looks kinda like their sports chyrons to me tbh, or at least, my vague recollection of them
iirc their basketball chyron is the one that really annoys me because it doesn't display the shot clock

Which one, the normal one or the March Madness one? Their March Madness coverage is produced by Turner Sports, so the graphics are originating from them...

I like that they filmed an actual horse for reference

I admit I'm not a big fan of the new TriStar logo (he doesn't take flight, the sky is too realistic and not "perfect" enough), but I liked seeing how it was made.

Also, this is pretty cool to watch:
The normal one, not the March Madness one, which as you said, is produced by Turner Sports (though it wasn't before, uh, 2011 or so, iirc)

but i tended to find Looney Tunes funnier than Disney cartoons

...I can't tell you why but this is disquieting. She turned 89 last week.
Because Moai heads are cool.
