people IRL are always impressed by how fast I touch-type
but like...that's what happens when you spend your entire life in front of a computer
also I'm fast but not very accurate; I'm constantly fixing mistakes as I type
I mean, okay I got that and understood as much, but I guess this is where different standards rise since "Who?" "[Name]" "Okay" barely a conversation makes to me (or in the worst case just involves not responding to potential other comments I guess).

I was? I don't recall seeing you type all that much.

In any event, what started a nice sunny day has now become a MASSIVE THUNDERSTORM
And the library has gotten real quiet since it rolled in

Oh yeah, I do remember that!
Also the power cut out for a moment and I had to wait for this computer to reboot.

Hi Toolsie.
Not much to see here except me in the middle of a massive thunderstorm
I mean, okay I got that and understood as much, but I guess this is where different standards rise since "Who?" "[Name]" "Okay" barely a conversation makes to me (or in the worst case just involves not responding to potential other comments I guess).
I just feel like when I talk about media criticism outside of the assigned thread I feel like I'm frequently risking some schmo leaping in and going, "I dislike that person's work because X (and you should feel bad for having a positive opinion about them so boo to you)." People can be unbelievably confrontational here about stuff like that, and while I would really like to find some way to change that, in the here and now, I often feel downright uncomfortable discussing the subject here. Not because I want everyone to agree with me, but because I just don't need air raid sirens of negativity every time I say something that might be controversial with one or two people. And it's not necessarily the same one or two people every time; it rotates, with differing responses.
There's also the fact that I always kind of feel like I'm being put on the spot when people ask me those sorts of questions, even if they are meant in a friendly way. If I'm not anticipating a question, and I don't feel like an answer adds anything to what I'm saying, it feels like I'm being grilled, like the person wants me to cite my sources. I really don't like that much.
so any of y'all know how to make heads or tails of Windows Process Explorer because I have no idea what I'm looking at but I'm seeing a lot of pink and it concerns me
As I understand it, that essentially amounts to a lot of system usage rather than anything in and of itself concerning, in part because I also got rather confused with a similar thing months back.

What Tzetze said. The pink ones are services, and none of them look especially out of place for a normal Windows laptop.

Things you learn from digital TV subchannels: the 1983 movie WarGames had a direct-to-video 2008 sequel

Things I didn't realize about Donald Trump before this election: He has no indoor voice
Like, seriously, whenever he talks he's fucking shouting

I happen to agree.
similarly, "bad pacing"

This does not invalidate my first point, however. I find it very stressful that I can't just talk about whatever here.
modern windows usually has like a million of them going, it's normal, and usually svchost.exe

Paradox Space has a way of making these points moot.
