"What is not good is the tricking of new audiences into experiencing these baby steps — paying for them — as if they were great masterworks, and as if they had any impact on the stories being produced today. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure was rebooted, reader. Part seven, Steel Ball Run, began an alternate timeline that overran the original one. In 2004 Araki began negating his own back catalogue. He knows too. There is no reason to republish, as recently as 2015, this meaningless junk."
We're being scammed by Big Anime!
Thinking about this, it makes less sense than I thought, because Part 7 and Part 8 are probably the parts that are MOST enriched by having a sense of what's come before
This is some SJW-type stuff but I really wish WNND would stop playing that transphobic "Funky Cold Medina" song all the time.
I don't even mind the song in and of itself--it's a product of a time when "trans woman as punchline" was still acceptable, so I can't be too mad that it exists--but they just keep playing it as if there's nothing wrong with it. :|
I kinda wanna like that song too, which sucks.

Me too.
"Royal Orleans" by Led Zeppelin is this too, but it's also not popular enough to ever get airplay
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Why can't they just tell Trump "the Republican Party is private property, you're trespassing by running for President, now go home and stop calling my cell or I'll blcok your number"??

Because the democrats asked a genie to make a democrat victory easier. And then the genie decided to be a jerk.
Also because the universe hates me and wants me to have to put up with social change as my parents leave the republican party and as the balance shifts in my area towards the democratic party and it's the end of an era and nothing is like it used to be.
People are actually saying that they're democrat! In public! The caucus building for the democrats was packed, that hasn't happened in fifty years!
Well, that's one less constant in my life to keep in the back of my mind as a comforting certainty. That's one less thing to be able to use to convince myself that things aren't changing and I'm not losing my culture and time isn't passing.
It is said an Eastern monarch once charged his wise men to invent him a sentence, to be ever in view, and which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations. They presented him the words: "And this, too, shall pass away."
My brother likes that, and tried to use it as to show me that Broadway wasn't the worst.
It was... difficult to properly hate something so good. Like, seriously, it's amazing, and that's terrible. Luckily, Youtube Comments provided the necessary suckitude I needed.

You really don't need to hate all broadway musicals.
I mean, I am sure there are movies you hate, but you don't hate all movies ever because of that.
Anyway for anyone who didn't check the other thread, I just wanted to tell people that I rescheduled the Naked Lunch stream to tonight instead of last night.
It's sad that, by the nature of Hamilton's story, it leaves out the part where Aaron Burr buys a bunch of Louisiana Purchase land, sets up shop with a bunch of armed farmers, and almost tries to set up his new independent nation of Burrvania or whatever he would have called it.

like, does that make a story within a story (with no influence on the plot, like the pirates in watchmen) a meaningless con
