Depends. Some films are nerdier than others; I guess you could say there's a spectrum.
Like, I wouldn't consider modern Star Trek to be deliberately nerdy because it's essentially an action flick series, but of course it's still going to appeal to that demographic.

I'm starting to think the word doesn't actually mean anything
The word honestly lost most of its punch years ago; these days if it's an insult it's a weak one, and more often than not I see it as something one is proud of being because the stuff idolized by the stereotypes is in vogue and shows no signs of going away.
If anything, 'neckbeard' has the same/a very similar purpose to what 'nerd' did back when people actually said it unironically.

Whatever makes you feel better about being a nerd, nerd.

It's as big cluster of family resemblances that is not worth defining in any essentialist way.
Pretty much this. Same with "geek," although that tends to more specifically imply a socially awkward enthusiast for a somewhat niche, often technical hobby, like a softer version of "anorak" or, in Japanese, otaku, which can be really offensive.
I wonder how many Speakers of the House have spent their tenure as such secretly hoping and believing that one day, they will get the call that the President and Vice-President have died at the same time.

I virtually guarantee that every single one has dedicated a good deal of their daydreaming time to this scenario

Reminder: this is a thing that's actually happening in America in the year 2016 CE
Isn't it time we, as americans, stopped asking ourselves what the Founding Fathers would have wanted, what they would have thought, what they intended for this nation?
I mean dang it, they ain't our dad! We can think things up for ourselves! Forget Thomas Jefferson, he's a slave-owning hypocrite! Constitution ain't so sacred when you gotta make a big purchase izzit?
Or Charles F. Pinckney, who was all, "oh yeah, religion is awesome! We're such a christian nation" and then writing the "no religious test required for to be president" thing. WHAT DOES HE HAVE TO HIDE?
Also, hey William Patersen, what the heck does "primacy of law over governments" even mean? Because it sounds like honoring treaties to all governments. That ain't what happened with the Treaty of Lancaster, ya jerk!
