    Do they still do that?

Because I thought Barney was off the air.
  • It might be in reruns in certain markets. I'm pretty sure that it still airs on my local PBS station back in Raleigh.

Barney hate seemed to be based around people being angry that the colorful shape that teaches people with undeveloped brains what numbers are was insufficiently engaging to sophisticated adults.

Most of the people who came up with the anti-Barney stuff were 7-14

The show and its content is often cited as a contributing factor to the perceived sense of "entitlement" seen in the Millennial generation who grew up watching the show as children.[16][17] One specific criticism is:

"His shows do not assist children in learning to deal with negative feelings and emotions. As one commentator puts it, the real danger from Barney is 'denial: the refusal to recognize the existence of unpleasant realities. For along with his steady diet of giggles and unconditional love, Barney offers our children a one-dimensional world where everyone must be happy and everything must be resolved right away.'"[18]

it's not like Sesame Street, which had the balls to deal with characters DYING

by "sophisticated adults" you mean "older children", right?  because those are the only people i see diss barney

and chava willig levy, whoever she is.

  • older being 8-10 years of age
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
older kids have gotta prove that they aren't little munchkins anymore, and dissing Barney is an easy way to do it.

The first minute or so of this video sums up my experience with Barney

For those who will go "eww former TGWTG contributor, I'm not watching that": Allison explains that as a kid everyone she knew made fun of Barney but watched and enjoyed it anyways

Except she presents it in a way that's funnier than that

are the Sims gonna die again
  • Only by old age.

    Or if they kill themselves.

And I make a fuck ton of grammar errors because I do the blog at night time when I'm tired and make mistakes that I miss when I "proofread" and only catch them when I return a day later and read the previous entry and see all the mistakes I left.

You know, I've played The Sims 4 on and off since last Christmas and I've yet to have a sim start a fire while cooking.

What gives, EA? Incompetent sims burning their homes down while making grilled cheese is practically a staple of the series!!

I heard they took out the bit where you could remove the ladder and have the Sim dowrn in their pool

I tell you, SimCity 2013 and now this. The Corpse Of Maxis has really lost sight of what fans want these days.

In case there was any doubt that Star is supposed to be a western take on a magical girl.
  • There was a time I was known as "CC"

  • card capting

I wanna watch more of that show but that'd require a crunchyroll subscription

That show is brilliant and I think, (perhaps incorrectly) it is viewable free on crunchyroll. I would verify but I am at work

Also, CC, I think you and Jane would both enjoy Star vs. the Forces of Evil

If you like engaging me when I roleplay as a crazy magical princess, you'd like SVTFOE.

only the first 7 episodes are for some reason, the rest seem to require a subscription

which is odd, I can't think of another show that's like that

Have you ever driven into a roundabout, realized you're headed entirely the wrong direction, and looped around to come back out the way you came?

It's probably because it's an older show with a new distributor. Is that the case for both the sub and the dub??

Whiplash from Hollywood standards and how people normally talk about movies.

I know people who think the newest Bond was shit because Bond  alludes to being familiar with sexual intercourse with other men when being interrogated by the villain.
