a testament to how good hamlet is, is that i have studied it four times now at various levels of my education and i don't hate it and in fact i still think it is rly good
IMHO, you have to read it in the original Klingon.
A Korean immigrant, inspired by the pure love of food, joy and her mother’s own delicious cooking, quits her day job, opens an artisan pizza pie place and names it after her dog. There’s no need to be overly patriotic here, but is there anything more American than that? Yep, sometimes dreams do come true.
It is, perhaps, worth while to note that what many people call Americanisms are really old English expressions which have lingered in our colonies while they have been lost in our own country. Many people imagine that the term " I guess,"which is so common in America, is purely an American expression, but it was used by John Locke in his work on "The Understanding,” just as we now use "I think."
It is in the colonies, and not in the mother country, that the old life of the country really exists. If one wants to realise what English Puritanism is — not at its worst (when it is very bad), but at its best, and then it is not very good — I do not think one can find much of it in England, but much can be found about Boston and Massachusetts. We have got rid of it. America still preserves it, to be, I hope, a short-lived curiosity.
rockleesmile and northernlion were talking today on stream about how despite how much they hated prometheus they kinda want to see the sequel and the whole time i was just like "odradek would be so mad at this"
When I'm stocking Walmart plays what I thought was the radio but is, in actuality, just some random-ass playlist. Including the most upsettingly butchered cover of Come On Eileen I've ever heard.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
The kids are alright.
They won’t always be kids. They’ll be kicked and thrown and burned and hurt. They’ll bite more than they can chew, they’ll make mistakes and do terrible things.

Looking forward to it, but I'm always homesick on the first couple of nights.
