Whenever I see those "such and such famous person blocked me holy shit" posts my immediate thought is that these people have probably @ed said famous people multiple times in the past.
At any rate I think there are worse things in the world than minor celebrities accidentally saying racist things, such as people using accidental racist comments by minor celebrities as Your Fave is Problematic fodder
Petty people gonna petty. Thus goes the world.
Pisses me off regardless. But I think I've made that rather clear on many occasions.

yea but he still shouldn't have said that tho and even if that is true we have no way of knowing

I think the way he phrased that originally was kinda obnoxious, but it is an obscure enough term that I can understand him not knowing the origins of it and I think calling him a racist to any degree is a bit much.

I mean I don't like the statement but it just seems pretty asinine to act like a single iffy tweet (or, hell, a series of iffy tweets even) has any particular bearing on whether or not he's a good person
I don't like the way AAVE is mocked. But bringing in character judgements about some rando with a cartoon just muddles the issue.

the character judgement im making is less about the tweet itself and more about his weenie-ass response

I can understand thinking that person was just being a pest or something.
Honestly, if I saw a tweet like that in response to me and I didn't already know what the term meant, I'd assume that they were just making it up.
Blocking the person may be a bit much, but I can understand simply not wanting to deal with someone you think (rightly or wrongly) is a pest.

I think given the high volume of stuff people say at him being An Important Twitter Person that his immediate response to negativity- which let's be real that tweet was definitely not the only negative one directed at him-was blocking is pretty reasonable. It's Twitter, not a self improvement crowdfunding service and there are better ways to confront a person about this than passive aggressive tweeting. I don't like what he said in the slightest but people are clearly going at this from an angle of predisposed dislike for him and that ain't helping anybody.
And it's for church, so it has to be melodic and fairly planned out.
The fun thing about having level 6 mastery of the saxophone is that you don't technically have to plan things most of the time. If you know the chords and remember what they're supposed to transpose to, you've got it made, kiddo. But at church, i have to play something vaguely recognizable so it looks like I'm trying.
In truth, I'm kind of apathetic about playing the saxophone. I'm already good enough at it that I can pull stuff like not picking a song until hours before something happens, and I don't have the time or the level of commitment to get any better at it. Piano, now that I can get behind. There's still stuff besides plain to the horizon's bound on the piano. But nobody cares about the piano when they can have the saxophone. So here we are.
