1. they want to cover you in gasoline and set you on fire, which makes them officially Less Friendly Than Varg Vikernes
2. ?????
Jamaica's actually a very Christian country. I mean, it has its havens of parties and sex, but you can find a church almost anywhere in Jamaica. Seventh-Day Adventism is actually one of the more popular ones.
Also, you're probably not going to get set on fire. Jamaica's more of a gun country. You might get machete'd if you venture far enough into the rural parts.
Glenn, you stick to your principles and I respect that, but you have some very odd principles.
Wait, which principles?
FYI this was a group that I was not particularly endeared (or whatever is the right word) to. It's one of several anime-related groups that I joined a long time ago, and I recently left all but one of them, and stayed in this one because it had an active chat should I ever want it. Not like I actually enjoyed the chat much since I've actually been there a few times and got bored almost instantly.
So if anything I'm just dramatizing it. If it were a group I actually cared more about, I'd probably be talking to the group owner gently expressing my displeasure over their practice.

since i have in fact gotten a number of invites to groups that were clearly meant to be mass invites
by which mean the groups are raffle groups that some people just wanted to get to membership milestones in order to get the owner to do giveaways/raffles
which is pretty much a social pyramid scheme
and there are other groups that did that too.
a few times i've been invited to groups that could plausibly have been "your profile looks like you'd fit with our group", but that is rare.
i just wish steam would disable the ability to invite EVERYONE on one's friends list to a group, and FORCE people to check members individually.
it's just usually group chat and some announcements
well, some actually do interesting things, such as Traders' Guild, which actually (despite their name) posts no-nonsense announcements about bundle sales, and Saving Private Hydro, whose owner operates a tc_hydro TF2 server
then there are some that are "join our group for some external benefit", though this is usually groups with some sort of external presence that usually predated the steam group itself -- i think Indie Gala and Bundle Tracker are the only ones i'm in that's like this
then there's the outposts for other web communities, which is similar to the above but I actually want to join them
then there's the fanclubs, which i joined because group memberships are public and i'm actually a fan of those things and in some cases the groups seemed a bit lonely with very few members
i actually could use the IJBM group to organize a terraria or TF2 group or something but i just never got around to it
Naney, I'm sorry that the place of my heritage is potentially and casually lethal to you. There are totally safe ways to experience it though. Just find a Jamaican shop and buy all the cool fruit stuff.
I wasn't able to tell that you sampled "World of Midnight" the first time, but now that I listened to it again, it could pick I up instantly. You incorporated it in really well.
Although most of the New Worlds crowd were more interested in the William Seward flavour of Burroughs (with its salty tang of opiates, old rope, undifferentiated tissue and semen), Moorcock had long had a fondness of the Edgar Rice variety, with its classic mix of arid Martian deserts, humid jungle paradises, and manly, manly sweat.

though he did clarify that it was just for the sake of wanting to murder a dude not because of the sexual orientation of said dude
No, fuck you, mass inviting is a scourge on Steam.
