Right now I think mine would have to be Sheetz given that they've sent out passes for free drinks for a month both for this month and the initial month they opened up our nearby location
today my uni elected the first transwoman full time union officer in the entire country. that's pretty sweet (and she's awesome and will be a gr8 officer)
Regarding the multiple Giant Foods thing: I've seen the Giant of Carlisle logo in use on Giant of Landover stuff before, usually meat rewraps. This was years ago, though; it may actually have been before the Stop & Shop merger.
There is apparently no good equivalent of DownThemAll! on Chrome. The one I tried just now was so sketchy that I uninstalled it immediately...it kept wanting to install shit like iLivid. :P
In a January 28, 2015, interview with Access Hollywood, Swift explained that she had found happiness in being single again, as it signified a state of independence that was worth protecting. Swift mentioned that she felt "happy," "free" and "independent," and told the interviewer that "it's important to really explore" and "embrace" one's life when it "completes itself." She also advised people in their twenties that they should not "use other relationships as a band-aid if one doesn't work."
So in my econ class we have this thing where we can say a current event to get extra credit, and naturally me being a damn fool I brought up the fact that the FBI closed its investigation on Ferguson. Unsurprisingly an argument followed and pretty much everyone in the class was against me, naturally.
It must be really, really easy believing the shitty lies about racial profiling. I'm exhausted by this. I'm just so sick of being disappointed in people I like.
My teacher flat out said "Black people commit more crime." His reasoning was that black people are more poor, and poor people commit more crimes, but even if this was sound reasoning the fact that his initial instinct was to decry black people (and by extension) poor people for committing crimes rather than the system for screwing them over is fucking contemptible.

1. Black people are under greater scrutiny specifically because people believe they commit more crimes, therefore black people get caught for more crimes than white people, and their actions are more likely to be seen as crimes than those of white people.
2. The war against drugs (which is really the stupidest effing thing; I still don't get why weed's generally illegal and tobacco isn't) is responsible for most of those crimes being illegal. Besides focusing more on black drug-users than white users (and more white people smoke weed than black people), it tends to put a lot of black youth into prisons, which usually ruins their chances of getting a job when they get out, leading to actual crimes
Print these facts out and keep them in your wallet! That way, you'll always have access to facts about the enslavement of a minority under the guise of justice!

I tried, man, I tried. It never works. They're living in a different world, where racism only exists when not examined. Sure, plenty of people say that racism still exists, but how often are they willing to admit that an issue was racially motivated?
I don't want to try. I don't want to have to. I want people to understand, dammit. I want people to stop pretending that killing is okay. I'm so sick of killing.
It doesn't matter who Michael Brown was. It doesn't matter what he did. The fact that I have to engage the issue under the pretense that he "didn't do enough to deserve being killed" is something I fucking hate. No one deserves to be killed. No killing is justified.
same. Like Nordic social democracy style government seems like the best practical form of government to me right now. The ideal would be like...as close to Star Trek-style as we can get.
I think the straight-up "give everyone $3000 a month" plan lodged somewhere in the deep recesses of the Swiss referendum system seems like a good idea.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
I sometimes think things like "I don't want to live in this world" or "I do not belong in this world" but I guess I am stuck here and I have some very good people in my life. Sometimes I want to make the world a better place in a big, important way but I really can't because I am largely powerless and vulenerable. I can only make things better in very small ways for a few people.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Yeah, I think that a lot too, but with regards to my nation.
I also came to a similar realization: I probably can't do very well overseas. I know absolutely nothing and engaging with people to tell their story (a function of journalism) is going to be really hard when I don't know anything.
So I guess maybe I'm stuck here? I can at least try to break the hold our leaders have over us.

Even the nominal liberals of the class were against me. Siiiigh.
