For [a,b] a fixed interval? Couldn't you just have two completely different functions with the same integral on that interval? Like, say, \x -> x and \x -> 1 both have integrals of 2 on [0,2].
since integration is linear and all. "the integral on [a,b] of f(x) - g(x) = 0" and "the integral on [a,b] of f and the integral on [a,b] of g are the same" are the same, surely.
And yeah, that might actually be it. I thought the answer had to be applicable for any [a,b], but the question states that the 'set' that we're using for these functions is dependent on a predetermined [a,b]/
\ is supposed to be a lambda. anonymous functions 'n' all.
if two functions have the same integral on all intervals i'm reasonably sure they have to be the same. maybe there's some pathologic bullshit
the pathologic bullshit is that f and g don't have to be the same everywhere, just "almost everywhere", which means they differ on a set of "measure zero" which isn't actually all that pathological
So my mom broke the computer monitor and cut up my favorite hoodie this morning. Might buy a Chromebook and just not tell her or something because if she knows I have internet access she'll use it against me.
