How can emoji be skeuomorphic? I'm not sure I understand.
I suppose that's not a correct use of the term on my part, but they're rendered in the same art style as Apple's old skeuomorphic UIs. Detailed textures, shading, etc.

I like that 4 de-emphasizes the need meters in favor of a more general "mood" mechanic...
so for about 10 minutes when we came home we were pretty sure our house was on fire. The fire department was here and our side of the street was cordoned off
what actually happened was that our neighbor's chimney caught fire, but good lord I have not been so scared in recent memory. I don't think I've crossed myself that frantically in my entire lifetime.

Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Fuck this. If I’m angry, it’s for a damn good reason. I am perfect and I can do no wrong.
I hate you and your stupid face and I wish you would just go the fuck away so I’d never have to listen to you ever again. Every little thing you say makes me a little more angry.
Other people like you and I don’t understand why. You’re insufferable.

I don't mean to sound like a huge weeaboo recommending you two anime series in quick succession sans prompt, but Nichijou is hilarious even if you know nothing about the references.
but shouldn't I finish Kaiba first or at least get a little further into it
Probably. Kaiba is pretty short and plot-oriented, while Nichijou is more situation-based and very much episodic. If I had to make a comparison, it's like Monty Python with teenage girls and recurring characters.
Well, if you picture "feelings towards a thing" as a line, with "indifference" in the middle, "dissatisfaction" on one side and "enthusiasm" on the other, i have moved further towards the dissatisfaction area than previously
though i felt it misleading to say that i have become more dissatisfied, because i am not quite on the dissatisfaction side of the time
It's less to do with getting to hang out with the beau and more to do with "not going on tumblr for long enough for me to re-acclimate to how people actually function with one another"
Yeah, I'll probably still be on the Internet all the time when I'm with dear.
I've just kinda grown weary of the crushing cynicism and negativity that seems to permeate much of it, and I feel bad about letting myself be as consumed by it as I was in 2013/early 2014. I feel that I'll have even less patience for it once I'm actually physical contact with her.
