It can do that sometimes. It is also good for digestive complaints and sore throats. A very versatile plant.

    That's a pretty interesting coincidence!

Not too bad! Just finished my last day at my summer job. It's a bit bittersweet, but hey, I'm moving onto The Ohio State University next week, so I can't complain...
  • The uncle I'm staying with has two young kids and they're watching Nickelodeon. Thoughts:

    • What has happened to Spongebob
    • Kinda weird seeing Guardians of the Galaxy marketed to children

To the first: The Flanders effect plus running out of good ideas and missing the point of what worked.

To the second: It was technically a kids' comic book. Doctor Who is still technically a children's show.

Want to know something weirder? In Japan, Revolutionary Girl Utena was marketed to a young enough demographic that Pokemon made jokes about it.

If you are unfamiliar, the plot of Utena involves, among other things: Domestic abuse, homicide, mind control, arson, incest, and more religious and sexual symbolism than you can shake, like, ten episcopal crooks at.

  • image Wee yea erra chs hymmnos mea.
Utena is the riveting tale about completely platonic relationships between girls. Also swords.

They changed the channel to Cartoon Network
    • I wasn't bothered at first by it but wow, it's really surprising how much of a downgrade Teen Titans Go is. And I can't believe I didn't appreciate how good the original was when I was a wee lad.

It gets more and less gay as the series goes on, which is to say there is a whole lot of gay, but not the gay that you expect from the first episode.

Also with the exception of the second-to-last arc (which requires the last arc to make sense), it is absolutely marvellous and you should totes watch it... but only in the original Japanese.

I haven't seen Teen Titans GO! outside of GIFs that make it seem pretty funny
  • Teen Titans GO! *is* pretty funny, at least in my opinion, but I think the issue is that that's not what people really wanted from a Teen Titans reboot.

I have read multiple Dune books, seen the miniseries, and seen half the Lynch film and I still don't know what that line refers to.

I liked the US Acres segments and the parody of the Scarlet Pimpernel, but that was ages ago...

It says something that the character that was supposed to be cutesy and annoying was more pleasant than the lead, however.

He's referring to the CGI show that Odradek mentioned.

The show you mention is Garfield and Friends, which was pretty good for an 1980s cartoon.

Kexruct, you better not be referring ot the 1980's Garfield show which was an apprewciable part of my childhood. It had the late, great lorenzo music in it.

But, I don't know of any other garfield show...
  • The CGI show is legitimately a painful experience for me. Everything about it is insipid, and the constant use of tubas gives me a headache.

I know of it. Garfield's mouth moves when he speaks, which is an affront

Mark Evanier did do some writing for it, so it can't be all bad though

    That is downright igly animation.
