If you mean computer games as a catchall term for video games, I have too many to list. If you mean just games for computers, none. Unless you count Team Fortress 2 and the PC version of Morrowind, which I never play.
well then i guess i must have terrible taste and i can't say that that fact makes me terribly sad
That wasn't what I meant, but when presented with a situation like this where I haven't seen a movie but see a response to it wildly outside the opinions of people who I trust on such matters, that's my default response. Sorry.
The only Will Ferrell movies I've actually seen are Talladega Nights (Which, I imagine, is much funnier to people who have witnessed southern culture and understand it's not an endorsement at all) and Step Brothers (dumb as a pile of rocks but had a few memorable moments, and more parts that I found genuinely hilarious than I'm comfortable admitting, but was also not that good for most of the running time)
the people who i most trust on the matter of whether a piece of entertainment fiction is good are people whose opinions on such matters have tended to align with my own in the past
they aren't always the same people whose opinions i trust on whether a piece of entertainment fiction is bad

you know i'm sorry but im not sure what the fuck else i was supposed to take out of that.
That I honestly don't really have any way of forming an opinion of my own so I default to the one I find the most reasonable by way of it coming from people who I trust on such matters?
And that I don't consider "thinks one movie is bad" to be an indicator of overall taste, or really even affects it, provided such opinions can be substantiated. Which I'm not asking you to do, either, because I understand that's not something most people want to do.

I saw half of the former. The bit with the jukebox was genuinely funny, I admit, although I did not care for most of its schtick precisely because that kind of overwrought parody is just not my bag.
Stranger Than Fiction is really cute and sad-but-happy, however. I might not enjoy it as much on re-watch, but Farrell is really fantastic in it. The fact that the public (and many critics) couldn't take him playing a relatively normal human being and nailing it vexes and sort of infuriates me.
seems like I might enjoy RPGs, I mean, escaping into another world for a while, y'know? But they often involve so much gameplay complexity (know which of the 219 different magic techniques to use at exactly the right time!) that I just can't get into 'em.

yes, that puts me off
that and the fact that many RPGs are not very interactive, and the stories do not appeal to me
the fights feel like menu screens, and that is not my thing
Monty Python is great, lots of good comedies are not Monty Python
Naney is much more discerning in his tastes than i am, and that is fine
i think you should form your own opinions about movies and not worry about whether they are the right opinions, Kex
That's not what I was doing. All I was saying was that I found Naney's response a bit hyperbolic, and outside the opinions of several people who I trust and 90% of the time agree with. My issue isn't really having the right opinions; I just saw a hyperbolic negative statement and found it upsetting as I am wont to do.

that's a peculiar reason to be upset
you're not the one who had to watch a movie you disliked
I never said it was logical; I'm quite aware that my standard response to a highly negative reaction as such is stupid as hell and literally only causes me problems.
to me open world games feel more escapist, somehow
although i believe Western RPGs offer more freedom to explore and choose your own path than Japanese ones
not that i have much experience with either
From what I can tell as an outsider, JRPGs are more about exploring characters and plots, discovering existing stories, while their Western counterparts are more, as you say, about the setting and making your own way.
Both appeal to me in principle, but I have an odd sense of visual and story aesthetics insofar as gaming goes. I might prefer to create such a thing.
besides which, i was responding to the thing about not being able to form an opinion of your own
That's really not the issue. I'm entirely capable of doing so; but I find that my opinion will line up with certain people's most of the time and in the even I haven't actually seen the movie I can generally assume my opinion will be similar to theirs.

from my limited experience of both, this is accurate
the stories in the former case tend not to strike me as terribly interesting, which is why they appeal to me less
in principle, i have nothing against a genre in which you discover an existing story

i see
i'm not sure i understand the compulsion to argue about a movie you haven't actually seen
what is your attachment to the movie, if you don't mind my asking?

i don't care to argue about this, anyway
they aren't always the same people whose opinions i trust on whether a piece of entertainment fiction is bad
i tend not to like video game RPGs very much, unless they have some other element that appeals to me
but that is me

not to your disagreement with Naney
i won't press this any further, if you think it's stupid anyway
there's nothing to discuss

such is the world in which we live
i'm not sure i've seen him in much else
